My everyday shoes: errands, walks, airport travel.

The Jungle Moc Nubuck’s are very comfortable. The Moab 2 ventilator were my go to shoes, now the Jungle Moc Nubuck is my “everyday wear” shoes. They are 2nd to my Nova Sneaker as far as comfort. It’s summer and these shoes have been thru scorching heat and torrential downpours wouldn’t trade it for any othe

Jungle Moc Nubuck

I've been wearing Merrell Jungle Mocs for nearly 20 years. I prefer the Nubuck model in black. I was initially concerned when I couldn't find them and very relieved when I visited the Merrell site and saw that Merrell still make them and I could order them directly. My order came within a few days and is perfect. The Jungle Moc is extremely comfortable, supportive, rugged, and easy to wear while being very light in weight. They are also super quick to get on or off making them the ideal shoe in my opinion. They last for years with daily wear. For a daily work, walking or hiking shoe I think these are unmatched. Please keep making these! Thanks!

slippery

I live in Seattle and we do get a little moisture. I have owned this sort of shoe in the past and loved them. I was not happy with the sole on these shoes. The waffle pattern did not do well on wet streets or steps. I slid a number of times and never had this problem with other brands. I was looking around on this site and realize that there are a number of sole designs and so I think the marketing should be more clear about the performance of the different soles. As far as overall fit and support I was happy with this shoe. I did return these shoes and will be looking for a different sole that has better traction on wet concrete and streets.

So very comfy

5 stars for day 1. Slipped right on and fit perfectly. I'm usually a size 12-12.5 and these seem like the perfect size for me (12's). I'm curious to see how well they fair against the weather. Snow and rain today and they seemed fine. The description says they will do fine in light rain/snow, but doesn't call them waterproof, so I was a little concerned about that. Probably the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. Recommended by redditors claiming to be doctors and nurses who are on their feet all day. I don't doubt that with how these feel. If they last as long as people are claiming, I'll be coming back to buy more!

My go to shoe.

I’ve been wearing this shoe for about ten years. I hiked the Grand Canyon in them, climbed Mt. St. Helens in them, hiked all over Israel in them (only took them off to hike through Hezekiah’s Tunnel), rode a camel in them, ride my mountain bike in them, and wear them to work everyday with my scrubs (Dr.). This is my go to shoe, just stick your foot in and go, no bending over to tie a shoe string. When I travel I never pack a pair of shoes because the pair on my feet is going to get me everywhere I need to go. I think I order a new pair about every year, always the same size and they always fit, no breaking in time necessary.

used to superior comfort has now become average

Merrells were my favourite shoes, I own multiple pairs. Unfortunately they have changed manufacturing locations my most comfortable ones which are like slippers were manufactured in Bangladesh but this recent pair are okay to the point of being average comfort level to most shoes on the market are manufactured in Vietnam. The padding on the tongue is not as plush the opening is tighter and the foot bed is not as plush. In search of profits I am afraid the company has sacrificed a comfort level that was superior to any shoe on the market to make an average shoe. After approximately a dozen pairs this will likely be my last

After a hiccup, success! Again!

I've worn the same style Jungle Moc for a decade; replacing them every two years. Love them. Santa (wife) got a new pair for me but I couldn't get the 10 1/2 size on my foot. Turns out, they were waterproof which shrinks the interior size (Merrell really should work on that). So she...Santa...sent them back and got a regular pair (I sprayed them and waterproofed them myself). Perfect right out of the box. What aI love about the Jungle Moc is they start form fitting immediately. I love these shoes. I only wear them late fall to early spring opting for running shoes (Asics). But the Mocs? They're a great shoe for me.

Slippery in Wet Indoor conditions

Having owned many Merrell shoes, especially Jungle Moc's I was surprised with the performance of these Jungle Moc's on wet surfaces. The "waffle" tread is not for wet, flat, surfaces (hard wood floors, outdoor decks that are wet). Also, this tread design seems to be less secure than the Jungle Moc design. I cannot, with confidence, wear these shoes in anything but "dry" conditions. I like the Nubuck look, but the performance of this shoe will keep in the closet unless perfect conditions exist. Tried to work through this fault, but in the NW USA, this is not a good comprimise. I've had them too long (past 30 days) to return, so I'll have to make them work on dry days only.

Designer

First day I put them on I felt like, "here is a shoe that feels like I have no shoe on” Today they feel just as amazing, so dry, and comfortable. Better than any Croc, way more attractive, but similar ease of putting it on or off. The styling makes it something I can slip on for practically any occasion. From hopping out of bed, to hopping into dress-cloths for a wedding, or business meeting; it’s the ultimate in semi-dress/casual footwear.
