pull string broke immediately. quality issue

I was very excited to receive this top-line ski shell. The first day I got the package, I tested all the pull strings, and they were all fine except for the one on the hood. One side of the string broke off from the end piece that holds them together. I wasn't using extreme force or anything close to that. Very disappointed that I found quality issues before I even started skiing. I was debating between the Burton gore tex pro jacket and this one, I trusted Arcteryx quality but gotta say this is very disappointing. Would not recommend spending tons of money and risking the chance of going through something like this.

Awesome backcountry shell

Upgraded my shells to Arc'teryx a few years ago and this Rush Jacket is my year round go to for weather protection. I use it split-board mountaineering and snowmobiling and as a rain shell in the summer. It has held up to several YEARS of abuse already. I am so impressed. I just wash it as instructed and it comes out looking great after all the grime and grease I get into it over the season. No tears in fabric, no zipper issues. Just a bomber jacket that will last 10+ years. Awesome work.

Best snowboard/ski touring jacket I've owned!

Got the Rush jacket in Oracle/Daze and it has been the best snowboard and best mountain activity jacket I have ever owned. The gortex-pro shell keeps me completely protected from harsh elements, but it is also the lightest jacket I have ever seen. I have found it to be incredibly breathable for split-boarding assents where I am working hard and still need protection from snow and wind. The hood is great and fits perfectly over my helmet and the amount of pockets is optimal as well. The oracle/daze jacket is such a wild colour as well, and my friends never lose sight of me on the hills and in the backcountry.

Absolute favourite snowboarding jacket

Favourite jacket, mainly used for backcountry snowboarding, but also for commuting in the rain and hiking. The length is perfect for snowboarding being slightly longer. Inside stash pockets are good for storing skin's in if heading back up for another round.

Perfect Ski Jacket!

I purchased the Rush last fall for ski trips in northern Michigan & the jacket performed better than I could have expected. While night skiing in subzero temperatures, the full zip front created furnace like warmth while sealing out the elements. The large pit zip release a substantial amount of heat on mild days. The Rush with gore-tex pro is more than capable of handling whatever mother nature will throw at you. I have always been a big fan of Arcteryx products, however, the Rush makes me want to purchase close to every article they design for each season….the Rush allowed me to stay on the snow, while others headed to the fireplace!!!

Stormproof and time tested

The Rush shell has come through for me as the best all round ski shell I've found yet. With burly fabric, a fit that allows layering options and features that have a versatile use for resorts and backcountry. While the jacket excels in wet stormy conditions that we get often in the PNW with its robust fabric and 3 layer goretex. I've found it very useful as a backcountry shell for cold dry conditions as it allows me to layer up. The new version has two internal stuff pockets that can fit skins, gloves or a couple of sandwiches. Typically I'll wear the Rush in the resort over a wool baselayer and my Proton LT. A vest or fleece works well for colder conditions without feeling crammed into it. My one gripe is that the powder skirt is a bit tight and could be removable. We don't get super light snow out the PNW so I never use it snapped together but will clip it to my Sabre AR pants if I remember

Simply Superb

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve had this jacket for 4 years and have used it year round for trecking, resort skiing and ski-touring. I’ve really abused it. It’s bomb-proof and still looks and, more importantly, performs like new. The pockets are ideal and I especially like they mesh internal dump pocket. The powder skirt does not get in the way when undone or when using the jacket for non-skiing activity. I have a solid/athletic build (95kgs/184cms) with broad shoulders and the Large fits like a glove with enough room for layering with either Atom/Cerium Lt or Thorium AR. Plenty of capacity in the hood for a helmet.

Rush Shell

High quality, lightweight fabric with solid seam construction. Color was accurate. Sizing was too small for me. I am 5’8 175 lbs and I ordered a medium lentils was fine just to tight iin the chest and shoulders. I am a 40 chest and couldn’t move comfortably without the armpit vents fully opened. Had to return for a large.

Almost Perfect!

I have the newest version in size large. I’m 5’10 180lbs athletic build and the large fits perfect with room to move around while backcountry skiing and walking. The goretex is super durable and works and breathes great. The pockets and ventilation are on point too. I have the red and tan color and I must say the jacket colors look way better in real life than in the internet photos. My only gripe is the collar fit. The collar when zipped up all the way can be a bit restrictive, especially when wearing a mid layer like the ATOM LT with a zip up or a baclava (which one always wears when out skiing). When the hood is up over a toque or a helmet it’s totally fine but sort of feels a bit too tight when down, fully zipped and wearing a baclava and helmet. Other than that this jacket is dope! Well done arcteryx. I’m sure this jacket will serve me well for many years. The addition of some eremovable elasticated wrist cuffs with thumb hole might be a nice touch as well but I appreciate the design now as it fits over a pair of mitts really well.
