Unfortunately, I had to order this jacket twice to actually receive it for a gift. I ordered the first time as it was supposed to be in the store and available for pick up in a couple of days. I went into REI and was told to wait for the email. It did not come. I went into the store again and found out REI cancelled the order and did not notify me. Had to order again.
I purchased a handful of jackets to try. What looks like pockets on either side of the chest are actually the "pit zips". I decided this was going to annoy me, and if I want venting in the front, I think I would just unzip the jacket some.
Sales people were friendly and helpful. Haven’t had a chance to wear the jacket. Perhaps next month on my next ski trip.
The Geo Insulated Jacket is the bomb. Keeps me warm with just the right amount of insulation so as not to restrict movement. May run a tad large for some, but for me that's A-OK. Love it!
