I'm usually not a hat person but this hat is amazing! It looks good and fits well on a big head like mine.

I love this hat so much I have it in two colors. I almost exclusively buy synthetic clothes because I have sensory issues with wool, this hat is the perfect amount of warmth and style. I have a big head so I don't usually fold the edge, I end up looking like a lego bank robber. I wear a size large helmet and would say this hat is the perfect size. Leaving in unfolded covers my ears and has plenty of room for my curly hair. Don't question yourself, buy this hat.

Tried on TONS of hats before purchasing this one. I loved the fit and color of this hat and was so excited to finally find the perfect hat. Easily fit over my top bun and wasn't too tight. However, after washing and drying a couple times (following manufacturer's instructions), it's completely stretched out and fits ridiculously loose on my head. It's so loose that it just lightly lays on my ears, letting cold air in while I'm constantly pulling at it to stay put. Pretty useless hat at this point, which is really disappointing. I only used it for a few months last winter and now I'll need to purchase a new hat for this winter.

Hat feels nice and comfy but is huge. Like I would love to see the size of head in these models. I dont have a huge head, but had to pull the bottom half of beanie up about halfway to get it snug on head. That's not not gonna work. And I'm not a hipster youth so I dont like my beanie to sit big atop my head. If that's the look you'd like, then this hat is for you. But for us dads, this isn't for me. Hat isnt locked down on the heat, so if you want some breathing from your head during an activity, this is good for that. But I wouldnt go out in a simple stroll below 10 degrees with one of these. The Shadow Bay color is closer to a purple/indigo than a blue.

Female here. I was excited for this beanie with such a decent price point but I found it to fit pretty tight. I tend to get headaches from beanies so this one isn’t going to work out for me.

This is my favorite purchase of the year. Trust me, i have made a lot of online purchases and this tops all. This REI beanie is warm and fits perfectly. The color is absolutely gorgeous and I have been wearing it around the house. I haven't had a chance to go hiking in it but I get lots of compliments (happy barks) from my dogs when they see me wearing it.

If I could design a perfect beanie, it would be this one. I love beanies but always so picky on the fit and feel. This beanie is loose and relaxed enough that I don’t have to worry about pulling it down all day long. The fabric is so soft from the get-go. Some beanies make my head itch but this one is very comfortable. I’ve worn this in 50 degree weather in Zion and 20 degree weather in Sedona and was warm the whole time. It washes well in a garment bag but had to use my fabric shaver to get rid of some pilling that occurred but it looks brand new again. Ready for another cold weather camping season!

I got this in the copper spice color. I love it! It’s hard for me to find a hat that I actually like. This one is taller and has a lot of room and the color is amazing. Thanks for making me a hat person, REI.

Looks good, fits good. However, the knit is somewhat loose, is 100% acrylic and causes loss of warmth in 30ish degree temperatures. For everyday wearing in mild winter conditions it works great but I would want a dense weave wool for winter snow camping and trekking conditions.
