Bugaboo Versus Titanium snow pants
I'm a bigger guy on a snowboard. Titanium snow pants fit me perfect. Bugaboo are on the tighter side so if you like skinny jeans, Bugaboo are made for you & don't get me wrong. I've been wearing Columbia snow pants sense the beginning days of snowboarding & you can shred the slopes in a pair of Bug's the same way you can with a pair of Titanium. Bug's are also good for snowshoeing & ice fishing I just hope Columbia reissues my Titanium snow pants in the fall of 2021. Stay safe out there & be nice to the skiers, they will be the one's who save you !!!
Good value, affordable snow pants
"Critically seam sealed" is a fancy way of saying "only seam sealed in certain areas". I know because I deconstructed a pair of these to make some alterations. The seam down the seat of the pants up to the waist, and the seam across the seat of the pants is seam sealed. Nothing else is seam sealed; not the inseam, outseam, seam across the thigh or behind the knees, nor articulated knee darts. Just plain 'ol seams. Could potentially let water through if kneeling in slushy snow or if sleeting. Some of the hidden seams are sloppily constructed but you can't tell in the finished pant. Leg width is pretty wide; size M runs around 11" ankle width and goes up to 12" up through the knee. It's about an inch wider than some other brands. For the price, these are actually very good value; it would be unfair to compare them to high-end brands with GoreTex for 3x the price.
Red Lifesavers
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve only had a chance to wear the pants once while snowshoeing for 6 hours. They were great, kept me warm but, more importantly they kept me dry! I accidentally stepped in a small pond up to mid-calf. No water penetrated through the pants! The elastic band with the built in gaiters didn’t leak in to the top of my waterproof boots. We get cold weather here in Idaho and the water on the outside of the pants froze very quickly. I was a few miles from a warm place. Between my Columbia down jacket and the pants I was just perfect and went a few more miles before calling it a day. I think the pants probably saved my life!
Paper thin fabric unfit for snow sports
I got these pants for skiing and they got completely shredded at the bottom just from rubbing against the ski boots after just a couple days’ use. Incredibly disappointed considering the price. The insulation is good but the outer layer is paper thin and the durability is just not there. The quality is totally unacceptable for a name brand. Buyer beware.
Very warm
Very warm I couldn’t ask for a better pant at 15 degrees when it gets to 30 they will make you sweat. Fit great with Velcro and built well for the money I would gues they were twice As expensive if I didn’t have the receipt
Great first pair
Perfect pair of snowpants for someone hitting the mountain for their first time. Or for shoveling the driveway after all of that lake effect snow decides to bury you in. They run loose fitting which is great, too many people only think of putting just the pants on and not the sweatpants/layers they normally will have underneath. Insulated so you won't need to worry too much about properly layering up like you will with higher end snow shells. Critical seams are taped which is a must for snow sports. I would like to see 10k+ waterproofing but for this price point I don't think anyone can come close.
Warmer than expected!
I was skeptical at first because these were much thinner than my old ski pants - although I'd gotten them years ago and saw all the other pants were also similarly thin so I thought I might as well take a chance. I guess insulation technology has really upgraded because wow these did such a good job keeping me warm in 10 degree weather, overcast, snowing, and windchill while skiing. All I wore under were a pair of basic fleece lined leggings. My legs were never cold. They fit really well. I actually am usually a women's medium but they didn't have my size so I bought a men's small and they were a great fit! My partner has this same one in medium men's and also found the same experience.
Good basic ski pants
This is similar to other columbia products with a this insulation layer and the shiny reflective lining. The XXL was huge, like all the way cranked down and still three inches of space around my waist. The XL is snug but fits. Seems like a big difference between the two. The pants are pretty straightforward. It would be nice if there were cargo pockets on the sides for things like phones and kleenex, but the front pockets are pretty deep. zippers on the legs would be nice too for venting and or for adjusting ski boots. The higher end model does have these but those don't come in short inseams.
Pass on these pants
First time wearing these on the slopes, the rear pocket rips off after a fall. Certainly these were made with the intent of wearing while snowboarding. So, probably unacceptable for a pocket to rip off on day one. I would not recommend this product to anyone who has ever caught an edge.
Nice and warm ski pants
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The pants are amazing! I was very surprised with adjustable waistband. It’s exactly what I needed since I’m thin but will insure that I’m able to keep the pants for many years. I’m normally a 34 length but chose the 32 since I wear with ski boots.
