Excellent
I wore this as my daily hiking shirt on my recent AT section hike and loved it. It is very comfortable and has great temperature regulation. If it got warm I would unzip all the way and roll up the sleeves and when it got cool I would zip up all the way and put the sleeves down and if it got cold I would put on a puffy over it. It kept me warm even during two days of non-stop rain in the 40's with just a rain jacket over it. I wore this for two days straight wet and I was still warm and comfortable, and it dried out faster than any of my other clothes. I was fine down into the 20's with just this shirt and a puffy. This is the perfect cool and cold weather base layer.

The fabric failed on both shirts within two months
I purchased two of these shirts (directly from Patagonia) on November 19th and by January 19th (after wearing each shirt fewer than five times), the fabric on both shirts is falling apart on the elbows (see the photo). FWIW, I a medium-size male and wear the shirts while skiing (under a Patagonia Nano Puff jacket). There is clearly a problem with the fabric.

Snug, Light, and Surprisingly Warm

I live in the Triangle area of NC, and this is a great top for doubling up with a long sleeve t-shirt on those colder morning runs. Having 2 layers definitely helps, but sometimes that can get really hot really fast. This is light enough that I don't overheat, but it still keeps me warm. The geometry is perfect for a fit body in motion. I also think this will be joining me for summer backpacking in the mountains where a little something is needed at night, but not a super heavy jacket. It is a tailored fit so keep that in mind when selecting the size. I am 5'9" 140lbs and went with the small, I would say I was right on the upper limit for that size.

My new, absolute favorite, hiking shirt

My new, absolute favorite, hiking shirt. I backpack mostly in Arizona and, thanks to my complete lack of melanin, I NEED a sun hoody. This is the best sun shirt I've ever tried. It is cool in the sun, slightly warming when it cools off, dries really fast, blocks uv for me completely, is silky smooth against the skin, has a flexible use hood and thumb holes. It does everything I need it to do as my main hiking layer. The large fits me (m 6'1" 220 lb, 100 kg, long torso) loosely but close to the body. It layers well under a 100 weight midlayer or my active puffy. It's so comfortable that I actually wear it as lounge wear. I got the gray which looks really nice IRL.

Soft Material Snags Easily

Pros: I trust Patagonia products. Good temperature regulation from cool to warm temps. Use it for trail running and hiking. Comfortable. Cons: Some of my running gear has velcro parts (belts, pouches). Sooooo, kiss that nice smooth surface on the R arm good bye! The soft exterior of this shirt SNAGS like you wouldn't believe, so I can't use it as a standalone top, or as a midlayer (use fleece as my midlayer). Disappointed in Patagonia. Glad the other reviewers like it.

Warm and comfy

Great construction, soft to touch. Slim fit, wear a size large but found it too tight. Size extra large was better.

Works as a great midlayer!

I got this baselayer top to wear as a midlayer for ultralight backpacking and I'm very happy with it! Instead of thumb holes in the sleeves, it has elastic loops, which I found easy to use. I love the Dark Borealis Green color. It's a perfect breathable layer for hiking. I got a men's instead of a women's because I have broad shoulders and didn't like the way the women's pulled against the back of my neck. I got the medium so that I could wear it over my hiking shirt.

Simply the best layering system there is.

I've been wearing Patagonia Capilene since it first came out. They have improved it over the years. It is absolutely the best there is. I wore a Patagonia capilene T-shirt, this Midweight zip neck and an R1 Zip neck under an insulated jacket during a fat bike race where the average temperature was -7F. Capilene wicked away all my perspiration and kept me warm.

The perfect shirt

Fantastic for hiking - great for just about everything. I compared it to the less expensive REI shirt and am glad that I got this one. It is worth every penny. If I only had one shirt to wear, this would be the one.

Multipurpose

Great for working out, hiking, snowsports, etc. Very impressed with this piece and the odor control as well. Wore for 4 days straight skiing and kept me warm at my core and seemed to keep the odor away
