[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like the color, it looks very cool. It is really warm when I wear it in the extreme cold weather during the Christmas holiday. I will wear it to ski.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I gave this low rating because they stopped making jackets that have the ability to have to dual zip. You can only zip this up, but once up, it's hard to sit. Please have them with the ability to zip up the bottom a bit so you can sit! Like the only Mountain Guide jackets from the late '90s. I still have mine and it's amazing. Would just like to have it blue. PLEASE FIX THAT!!!!!! It makes the jackets so much more comfortable.
High quality jacket and helmet hood fits great. Only gripe is that the sleeves and jacket overall runs long.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Pretty good ski jacket. Has a lot of great features one would want like pockets, goggle wipe, etc. The zip in thermoball liner is just OK though. It seems sufficiently warm and convenient to dress down this jacket into 2 separate pieces as needed. The thermoball liner is warm enough for the fall or spring but combined with the outer shell seems warm enough for freezing temperatures (with a sweater underneath). Wished it could be a tad warmer for the price. The outer shell is good for a substitute rain coat and is sufficiently water resistant. If you decide to go down instead, you could get something warmer and lighter in weight but down looses its warmth when wet so thermoball is a win there.
Very pleased with this jacket. I'm in my 3rd year skiing; this replaces my Mountain Hardware Fireball 2 (insulated). I ski in Washington state where temps typically hover ~21-35 throughout the season. I was hoping for better temp control and I found it with this jacket: the pit zips provide plenty of venting when wearing the liner. When I get too hot, removing the liner is a sinch and packs small in my backpack. With the liner out, the jacket doesn't feel too blousy either. Note on sizing: TNF always runs big, so be sure to round down. I'm about 5' 8" slim/fit build: get a small. The jacket is also slightly longer than average I'd say and stops around lower part of my rear - probably about 1/2 - 1 inch longer than my Fireball 2. I paired this with The North Face Freedom Bib (short/small) and couldn't be happier with the kit. The blue version of this jacket is "stunning" according to my wife :-)
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So far I've used my North Face from East coast to west coast to Colorado, no issues and the jacket has kept me safe and warm every single day. Such a versatile jacket that works from pure alpine skiing to touring , it does it all. Will buy another one !
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Zipper this coat up and you won't feel not a breeze or a feeling of cold just maybe a lil cold air from underneath the opening of the jacket.great design front side pocket extra zippers for ventilation very waterproof
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The shell protects me from the freezing rain, but this is not the 3-in-1 jacket of yore. The front zipper protector flap is gone and there is no second zipper to unzip from the bottom; there is only a single underarm zipper, making it tough to zip shut in cold winter while wearing gloves and a backpack. The liner is lightweight and easily soaks through with sweat. My old fleece was like a nice, warm blanket that I could sleep in; this new liner is like a slip-n-slide. It protects in the cold unless I'm sweating, then I'm soaked underneath. To be honest, I'm disappointed.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Skiing resort and Backcountry with this jacket. Perfect for both. Starting out a skin up with just the puffy is great then having the shell for the way down is key!
Warm and quiet, good wind and water resistance. Zipper broke after 1 season of gentle use.
