My last pair of Merrells lasted 16 Connecticut winters. Let that sink in. When these arrived, I was very happy to see the quality is still as great as it ever was. They've even made some improvements to the back where the sole comes together with the upper, which is the only thing wrong with my old ones. I love the zipper (easier for us thick-fuzzy-sock-wearers) and I imagine these will last me another 16, if not longer. So incredibly worth it!
Thank you for being a fan of Merrell!
Comfortable right out of the box! I walk two hunting dogs every day in Michigan weather! These are the most waterproof, WARM and supportive boots I have owned in 6 years with these dogs. I walk 3-6 miles daily!
Very snug at the ankle. These boots have been great the few times I've worn them, both in snow and in mud. My feet have been dry, and warm ish. The only downside is that there is no give at the top of the boot and the opening expects that the person wearing the boots has bird legs. It's nearly impossible to get the boots zipped to the top with a standard weight crew sock. There's no way any of my think winter socks would work. The rest of the boot has plenty of room so it's just a bizarre ankle design.
Thank you for your feedback! We will be sure to pass it along.
I chose the boots before a winter trip to Portugal where the streets and sidewalks are covered in cobblestone . The rainy season provides ample opportunity to slip so a beefy sole, warm insulation and stylish look were important to me. The weather was warmer than anticipated but I enjoyed wearing them on one cooler day, without any break in issues. Now I’ve begun wearing them in Northern California where I live and plan to use them over our wet winter. I did spray them with 2 coats of water proof spray before I wore them the first time for added protection against any moisture. Overall I really like the boots although they do have a big look they look coo and fit my size perfectly.
We're grateful for your input. Thank you.
Bought Merrell Thermo Kiruna Mid Zip early last winter. Yes waterproof. Yes warm. Yes great fit. Second winter has started and these boots are really holding up. Wearing them daily around the property. I average 3 miles a day tending to my chores and dog walking. Even stays dry walking through standing water. Great boots!
Thanks for the great feedback Nicole!
Great boots, comfy and just what I was looking for, something I could slip into, waterproof, light and rugged. I found them stiff at the leg for the first little while but have worn them in now and that is no longer an issue, other than zipper is tough to get up when I wear winter fleece lined leggings tucked in. They are roomy and definitely would fit thicker socks however as there is lots of room in ordering my usual size (8). I wear them for my many walks with my dog and always have warm feet moving otherwise on a cold day not moving I did get cold feet. I really like these!!!
I bought both 7.5 and 8 in this style and wasn't able to comfortably wear either size (nor could I return them). I found the foot bed to be quite narrow and oddly shaped throughout. The heel and area around the ball of the foot was really narrow in either size, so much so that it hurt to walk and could feel the impression of the insert. Just really unexpected as I don't have wide feet. I bought them to walk my dog through all sorts of weather and have had to resort to something else. They were water proof, looked alright, and didn't have any issue with the integrity of the shoe.
I purchased this boot before for functionality and easy on and off…..and the zipper will not stay up. However It is a great little boot and has otherwise held up great and remains waterproof with great traction in mud, snow, ice! Disappointing about the zipper.

They are surprisingly comfortable and stable for zippered shoes. We’ve been winter snow hiking every week since they arrived and no cold wet toes for me! Also, the traction on snow packed trails is good.
These boots are AMAZING! Took them to Montana for hiking in the Rocky Mountains. These boots are completely waterproof and keep your feet warm for a long time. I was able to climb rocks, forest floors and through water for miles at a time without any traction problems. I also wear them EVERY single day for walking my giant Alaskan malamutes through wet soggy fields, snow and ice in NE Penna., and they perform fantastic! These are the only boot you need. These will be the only boot you will want to wear. They are very comfortable. I have to get another pair for backup!
Thank you for sharing you experience and great feedback with us!
