Warm enough for me

Please note that the rating on these mittens is not 25 degrees F as a previous reviewer stated. The rating range is actually -5 to +25 degrees F. To me they are appropriately warm in this temp range and possibly colder depending on the individual and activity level. Of course YMMV!

+ 25°F temperature rated

Be aware that this product has a temperature rating by Outdoor Research of only +25°F. The online info does not indicate this. Other OR mittens have ratings of +15°F and even -20F, but consequently they cost more. If you plan to occasionally wear these mittens on really cold days, get one size bigger than normal so that you can wear some thin gloves inside for extra warmth on those days.

Super Comfortable and Warm

I use these Mitts skiing in the Canadian Rockies. I have the worst hand circulation so I wanted some warm so I could spend more and a run or 2 on the hill before heading inside to heat up. Also didn't want to break the bank on heated gloves. They held up great on a -20 morning in Lake Louise, once I got skiing they were toasty and I had no hand issues at all which is rare. The gauntlet could either have been a bit bigger to fit over a coat without having to full strap down the cuffs, or a bit smaller to fit under the coat. Also dexterity is lacking but they're mitts so that's par for the course. The elastic cuffs on the leashes are really soft and unnoticable while wearing them. Really pleased.

Warm and Features!

These mittens have surpassed my expectations! I use them heavily at the resort and bring them on REALLY cold days in the backcountry. The included wrist loops are a huge lifesaver when performing tasks on the lift, in line, or on the slopes. I never have to worry about dropping my mittens. The cinch cord and tightening strap are both very easy to use, even with the mittens on. The dexterity is that of a good mitten, don't expect to be sending texts with these on. I suffer from chronically cold hands, but these have kept my hands warm below 10 degrees with plenty of wind. The goretex does its job and my hands stay super dry. Overall very pleased with these mittens and would recommend to everyone!

So far so great!

I love these mittens so far! I wore them hiking today- it was breezy with a windchill in the upper teens to low 20s. My hands were toasty and warm while others in my group were talking of cold hands. I love the straps as well!

Good Mitts

I probably might have kept these but the inner lining was somehow wrinkled in the left mitt and felt uncomfortable. I assume that was just poor sewing on this particular mitt and not a general reflection of their quality. The lining / insulation in the thumbs was a little bunched but OK. Quality appeared very good. Insulation on backs was very good. On fronts was a little thinner than I would prefer but that is to be expected on sensor mitts/gloves. I actually have no need for sensor mitts since my experience with sensor gloves is not that good and with mitts would be awkward at best.

Pretty pleased

I haven't had a chance to test them in a full day outside, or at a ski resort setting (where you sit still in a lift for ages). But I wore them while walking around in the -35 C weather this winter for up to 45 minutes at a time and was really pleasantly surprised at how warm my fingers stayed. I tend to get raynaud's-- and these mitts kept it away during that cold weather, but I think moving my body was essential as well. I also haven't tested the waterproofing really. Only downside is that the lining isn't removable, so if you got sweaty hands, it would be harder to dry them. I'm a 5'9 woman with proportionate hands, and the mediums are perfect-- a bit big and roomy, which is how I like my mitts. Enough space to add another thin lining or heat packs if needed.

Too large, definitely not warm as advertized. My fingers were very cold at 22F. I returned them.

Love these Mitts. I'm a skier, and a lot of skiers use gloves, but I love a good mitt because it keeps my hands warm. You do lose some dexterity with mitts, but I would rather keep my hands warm, and quickly take them out to do what I need, and then put them back into a warm mitt. The leather in these makes them durable too. I did a couple climbs having to haul my skis. Was not worried about cutting my gloves. They held up great and looking forward to using them for multiple seasons.
