I just finished my loop around the Windriver range and can say that the cage was very useful and is bombproof.Water is always a problem when you are self supported and touring in and out of the arid regions and need to carry enough for the evening and until the next watering hole the following day .I will no doubt mount another one of these on my bike to expand my storage of easy to reach H2O.
Currently using the racks to hold clothing items in a 10L compression sack on my bike. I made plastic bags to put inside the compression sacks for additional coverage from rain and other weather elements.
It works fine but it’s my second salsa cage as the first wore through the plastic where the bolts mount.
Well built, really like this. Feels very solid and can hold more weight than it states. Would recommend.
Great product, holds water bottle or other packs. Please excuse my earlier review. I was just trying to fit in with society.
Is not designed for carrying loafs of hard earned bread otherwise does a good job with most vessels (aside from the wheat variety). Would recommend testing with alternative grains/vessels before your bike trip. Do not waste your hard earned bread!
It works better than traditional bottle holder and can hold a greater variety of things.
Fantastic gear!! Holds everything the way it should! Mounts perfectly!
When i attempted to install the anything cage, i noticed that the bolts where not included as noted on the package. However, when i called the bike service at REI, they offered to install the cage for me onsite at no charge. Unfortunately, i live too far away and just went to my local shop to get the needed bolts. This was the first time that one of my orders wasnt 100% satisfactory, but it certainly was the exception
