I was looking for a warm, waterproof, windproof down coat. This checks all the boxes. It also doesn't scream with branding, which I like--the simplicity appeals to me. The cut is good, rather generous. I am normally a size 2-4 and thought the XS would be too small but it is not--and I could layer a sweater without a problem, if it were super cold. But I don't think I would need to; the coat is warm. The windproof factor and the attached hood are fantastic since no wind leaks around the neck, as with detachable hoods. This is a comfortable coat, very wearable, and relatively light. I love it for walking my dog in all kinds of weather and for winter city living.
This is one of the few warm winter jackets that does not look like a sleeping bag! We purchased 2 of them and loved them until the zippers came off of both, making it impossible to close the jacket! This is clearly a design defect, but it's not covered by warranty.
I have had the chance to really test this jacket and I'm very impressed with it. I never spend that much for a piece of clothing but was I was tired of having various jackets that would not perform entirely in the Pacific NW weather. I wore this jacket in cold torrential rain for hours and stayed bone dry and warm. The hood, length, wrist cuffs, everything is absolutely perfect. I usually wear a small but bought a medium in case I want to wear a puffy vest if it gets really cold.
I have been eyeing on this jacket for quite awhile. I didn't get it last year because there were lots of complaints about the zipper issue. When Arc'teryx came out with this new improved version this year, I couldn't resist it anymore. GORE-TEX and Light Weight (only 2 pounds) are my main reasons getting this jacket. I do understand "warm" is relative and different from one person to another. In terms of warmth, I usually get cold very easy and this jacket is not that warm for me. I wear multiple layers with this jacket which I don't mind, when it's in or below 30s F. I initially ordered size XS. It fits good but it's a bit tight on the shoulder for me. Since I know I'm going to wear multiple layers, I decided to exchange it for S. Size S is a bit big on the waist, but it's comfortable on the shoulder and also when I wear multiple layers. If you are thinking to ditch your bulky/heavy winter coat, I highly recommend this jacket.
Haven’t yet needed this winter coat, however I’ve tried it on and it’s beautiful, warm, and will be great for North East winters. Looks great too! Usually a 4 petite US sizing but had to exchange for size up, would be snug with thicker clothing underneath if I kept 4.
I have not had the opportunity to wear the jacket yet, but I love how the jacket is slimming and looks professional for work while still being very warm. The longer length and the well designed cuffs will be perfect for keeping warm from the blustery Ohio winters.
I just got this jacket and really like it so far - the zipper issue that others noted seems to have been fixed, and I really like the shape of the jacket. I’m an 8-10 and curvy, and my usual medium fits just right.
Warm at 20 degrees in the rain while out walking with my furry friend. Hood adjusts well and the jacket looks more stylish than your typical parka. The only thing I miss is a waist draw string.
