Measurements are stated in inches unless otherwise indicated. Size chart values represent body measurements, not garment measurements. Some women's pants are available in petite and tall sizes. Typically petite sizes fit women 4'11" to 5'3". Regular sizes fit women 5'4" to 5'8". Tall sizes fit women 5'9" to 5'11".
PETITE: Generally, as compared to regular sizes, petite sizes are 2.5 inches shorter in inseam, 1 inch shorter in body length, 1.25 inches shorter in sleeve length and Âľ inch shorter in total rise.
TALL: tall sizes are 3 inches longer in inseam, 2 inches longer in body length, 2.5 inches longer in sleeve length and 1.25 inches longer in total rise.
Capri or cropped pants have an intentionally shorter inseam—reference the technical specs instead of this chart.
Inseam is measured to the floor.

I am a very solid size 16…. 5’9”, 223lbs and carry my weight around the middle . the 1X suits me, even with a longsieeve sweatshirt underneath. (See photos) very pleased with the lightweight fabric, well fitting hood will protect without blowing off because it’s too loose. Small snaps at the side hem can be undone for more movement/flexability. Will using this this in spring in London, will look stylish.
I typically wear a 1X but thought I'd go up to a 2X in this jacket to accommodate a hoodie underneath. The sizing on this jacket is all over the place. The upper arms are very tight and fit more like a XL-1X. The sleeves are also super long on me (5'5 average), I could easily roll them up +4 times. Across my chest (40D) is uncomfortably snug. The remainder of the jacket fits as I would like. Overall I would say to order up 2 sizes, 1 size to accommodate layers and another size to account for that fact that the upper half of the jacket runs small.
I just purchased this jacket for hiking but with no rain in sight I haven't had a chance to try it out, though I have no reason to doubt it will do well. I purposely bought a 2X, one size larger than normal, so I'd have plenty of room for layering a heavy sweater or fleece jacket underneath and I'm happy with that decision. I can put it over a bulky fleece and still have room to move. For hiking I like having the added length so when I sit down it still covers the top of my rain pants. I like everything about the jacket: the fit, the style, and the color, which is NOT wispy grey, as listed online, but a light almond color.
This is a really nice raincoat, but as always in larger women's sizes, the sleeves are too tight. I have larger-than-average upper arms, but I'm sure even women with more slender arms would like some room to layer under the coat. Please keep this in mind if you ever update this style. I do like the length, and it fits great (and true to size) otherwise. I am keeping it because I do have a little room in the sleeves, but not enough for something like a fleece jacket.
I bought a 2X in graystone, a lovely gray purple. Lightweight. Fits PERFECTLY! I can comfortably zip it past my hips. The hood has a stiffened section that I can flip back to keep my line-of-sight clear. The sleeves have Velcro to keep them as tight as I want at the wrists. This coat was worth every penny! Also fast delivery. Height: 5’ 7” Weight: 265 lbs My fully clothed measurements: Chest 48” Waist 47” Hips: 53”
5'8" upper arm 15" across shoulder 23" upper arms could be larger and or a pleat at back where arms attach. Long body length 4" above knee. Sleeves as long as a men's fit. Lots of room in hip. Love the zippered pockets.
I love this rain jacket. It fits perfectly (size 3X) and I appreciate the long sleeves as I have long arms. The fit is flattering as is the color, and I love the longer length. Thank you, REI, for making good quality technical clothing in women's plus sizes.
I just went for a 20 minute walk in light-medium rain to test out this jacket. Here's my experience: -- Water did bead up on the jacket and it basically kept me dry -- It was about 54 degrees and raining and I wore a "winter" fleece underneath and was warm (this is why I bought a large - so I could layer as needed) -- I really appreciate the length - it does protect your thighs from the elements. I am about 5' 5" and a Large hits just above my knees -- There was some wind so yes, wind protection -- When I got home I checked my fleece underneath and it was slightly damp; for a longer walk I might pair this with a more water resistant layer underneath (lightweight synthetic puffy) -- I could see being comfortable on a 30-minute rainy-ish walk wearing this -- Seems like a very good coat for layering and running errands in the PNW or other damp climes. Probably best in drizzle/light rain. -- I got the purple/grey color which is quite pretty in a neutral kind of way -- Toggle to adjust waist is a nice feature and allows you to add some shape to coat That's it!
Obviously, it succeeds at keeping me dry. It also has all the little adjustment features that make a coat comfortable - hood adjustment, waist string, velcro wrists, even a side snap to ensure ease around the thighs. I'm really glad I got this.
Lightweight. Great color! Long length for a raincoat. There’s a hood! I went for a really large size to be sure I could get a sweater under it. The sleeves are nice and long, and there’s a Velcro closure at the cuff to adjust to keep the sleeve from going down too far. Again, great color! sleeve from going down too far.
