True to size for me!
I almost ordered XL based on the reviews saying this ran small. I'm glad that I ordered a Large (my normal size) because it fits perfectly, with room for a layer or two, as long as it isn't a bulky sweater or sweatshirt. I'm 5'10", 36D, long arms, long torso, 41" hips, for reference. It's very warm and very light -- also rainproof! It's almost spring in Wisconsin, so we are getting snow, rain, wind and even nice days (March), and this jacket has been perfect for all of them. It doesn't have any give in the shoulders, so when you reach your arms out or across the body, it feels a little tight, but it's fine with me.
Great warm plus sized jacket.
Most outdoor wear companies have a sizist problem. Not Columbia. As a plus sized woman I have been shopping for a good quality down jacket. In regular clothes at every other shop I wear an XXL, I can *just* fit into most outdoor brands when they offer an XXL without room for layering. Usually they dont even offer above an XL. Its like plus sized women dont do outdoor activities. So I would like to applaud Columbia for selling high quality inclusive outdoor wear. This down jacket is warm and lightweight. Perfect for my backpacking trips and it will be joining me on the PCT.
The shoulder of the jacket has begun to rip off

Nice color and fit
I got the plum color it's a nice bright purple. I am 5'4" and weigh 140, athletic build with broad shoulders. I bought a medium, there is plenty of room for another layer underneath. I probably could have sized down, but may not have been able to comfortably wear another layer underneath in a small. I havent worn this in the cold yet. I was replacing this with the Columbia Lake 22 reversible down hoodie which I had in a large. After some weight loss it was way too big for me and needed to size down. The one thing I wish the Delta Ridge jacket had is an inner chest zip pocket which the Lake 22 jacket had. I havent worn it in the cold yet, but I suspect it will keep me warm enough in the Moab winter the same as the Lake 22 jacket did.
Absolutely love this jacket!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This jacket is amazing. So comfortable and warm. I live in the frozen tundra of northern Minnesota and I'm confident it will do well in our frigid temps! I am 5'10" and the sleeves are amazingly long and the length of the jacket is perfect. THANK YOU for making a jacket with sleeves long enough for us tall girls. I also believe this jacket is true to size. I am usually a large in jackets and so I got a large. I have room to layer underneathe. Everyone saying it's roomy and you could size down.... Well yeah you could but then you can't layer underneathe!! I can wear a sweater or sweatshirt under this comfortably or wear a t shirt and it doesn't look sloppy. Go true to size for sure!! Love love love this and the red is such a beautiful color!! Thanks Columbia!
Perfect!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This jacket is exactly what I was looking for for when I didn’t want to wear my longer parka. I live in Minnesnowta, so warmth is a must and this delivers while being extremely lightweight! I was a little skeptical when I initially unpacked it, but I know how far warmth tech has come over the last few years, and sure enough it kept me warm during this recent cold snap. While I wouldn’t say that it runs small, it’s definitely more of a slim fit, especially if you’ve got wider hips and a larger bust like I do!
Love the construction, hate the sizing
Sizing recommendation has changed in the month since I bought this jacket; if it had read "runs small; size up" when I purchased I would have done so. I'm 5'3" and 140 lbs and bought a medium. When wearing it OVER a fleece, it is far too tight. Since this is a jacket I intend to use when it's cold out, not being able to wear something under it doesn't work. I realize I am not a fan of "active" sizing and much prefer the men's fit for a jacket, but the men's colors are very unappealing to me. This will be returned - whether I try a different size, either in women's or in men's, remains to be seen. Would appreciate it if the size indications were consistent (show hip measurements on the men's sizing scale; show arm length on the women's sizing scale) as that would help figure out a better fit.
Just What I Wanted
I have a Columbia coat with Omni Heat insulation and although I figured it would not be warm enough to wear all winter, the only exception was during a polar vortex which was -50. I bought this jacket in blue and ingnored the advice to size down because I knew how the coat fit me and I plan to wear this jacket snowshoeing with a thin, very warm baselayer so I don't bulk it up. I would say it is true to size. I got the blue which I would describe as Periwinkle. I am 5'5, 130 pounds and I bought got size small. The only reason I gave it four stars is that the sleeves are too long for someone 5'5. I almost did not buy it because a couple reviewers said it had a bad odor and I am very sensitive to chemical odors, but mine does not have an odor. I am tempted to get the jacket in another color.
Very comfy & lightweight
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m happy with my purchase! I love the fit- it doesn’t ride up when I sit down (in the car) or restrict movement. I’m between a size Medium and Large and this fit just right. It’s SO lightweight that you might think it won’t be warm enough- But it kept me toasty when temps were in the teens. I really like the purple color- it’s not too loud & bright. Perfect for someone trying to avoid buying black all the time but not wanting wild colors that clash with your wardrobe. Highly recommend!
Light
Lightweight, warm and comfy coat! I can wear things under the jacket and jackets over it if needed.
