Smooth Ride; Longer Lasting Than Expected

I would definitely recommend these tires for the price and will buy them again. I purchased these in the 700x28 size in the Spring of 2022 and put over 2600 miles on them over the course of the year. They are much smoother riding than the Panaracers I had previously (since discontinued), likely because of the thinner, more flexible sidewall. Over the course of the year I had exactly one flat which was caused by a long, very sharp, thorn. The rear tire developed a flat section after several hundred miles but the wear progressed very slowly after that and is still ride-able. The front tire shows little wear and will probably outlast another rear. I ride exclusively on asphalt or concrete paths and streets and weigh approximately 160 lbs.

Riding less than 50 miles, I got my first flat. Than in less than 10 miles after the first flat, the side wall bubbled and blew out. Some of the worst tires I have ridden in terms of durability. REI, can I return these?

Great tire for the price

Bought these for winter riding and am very pleased. Mounted on wider carbon rims on a rim brake bike and they are true to size. I'm pushing 200lbs so I run these at 85psi up front and 95psi in the rear. At those pressures the traction and ride quality is great. They actually feel similar to my Conti Grand Prix 700x23c (actually measure 26mm wide on these rims) at 110psi and 120psi. So a little stiffer than the GPs but still lively and responsive. MUCH better than the Armadillo Elites I tried once before. Those things might be tough but felt like blocks of wood on my bike. The AW1s provide a MUCH BETTER ride than the Armadillos at half the price. Can't say much about durability on these yet but I have ridden over some pretty sketchy stuff typical for winter roads and no issues, surprises, complaints, or punctures. I recommend these tires.

Efficient Rolling Tire for a Steel Cyclocross Bike

I have turned my Robin Egg Blue Surly Cross Check into a single speed training bike and consistent rig when riding around the neighborhood with the kids. Great tire, really efficient rolling along keeping me at a really good speed during training and no real concern with flats while on rides with kids or out by myself training for group rides with A or B groups.

Great upgrade from 25c - Smoother ride!

I upgraded to these from 700c x 25mm. My bike feels smoother by a lot. I rode 15 miles and felt less tired from absorbing bumps! I will keep this size going forward. I use my bike for fitness and endurance, riding anywhere between 10 and 40 miles casually and occasionally longer rides, 1/2 century’s, 100k, all done with 25mm tires on good roads. That’s not the case nowadays and these tires won’t break the bank.

Excellent Road Tires

I had heard these were difficult to put on rims, but with tire lever and caution they installed well. They are very sturdy and perform well.

Great commuter tire

Slick and quick and good in the rain. Used with the Rhinodillos and it was an unstoppable commuter tire. But it was too big for my front forks, unfortunately.

Very weak sidewall

Got about 6 miles on these tires before the sidewall blew out. Didn't save receipt so money wasted away. Stick with gatorskins, much better tire.
