Disappointed
I purchased the pro zip for a 43 day canoe trip in Canada’s north. Within the first day the zipper broke and the quality along the seams of the bag appears to be quite poor compared to other products in this price range.
My Favorite Daily Use Bag
Took my 70L on two dirty, sandy multi-day trips: Desolation Canyon on the Green, and a month in the Grand Canyon. For the latter trip, I used this as my day-to-day bag to access my tent, camp clothes, small camp chair, etc.. I was fearful about the zipper getting compromised with all the sand and frequent access. It didn't fail on me once- and it withstood my constant stuffing it to the gills with last minute stuff. Highly recommend to folks who want something they can trust and are tired of getting cramped hands from other types of closures. I do recommend keeping a toothbrush and some T-Zip handy just in case. Also loved the backpack feature for fewer trips unloading the boats!
Alaska Tough Dry Bag!
I have made 26 trips to Alaska as a professional guide. I am always trying out new gear. Often times its too late by the time you find out whether something really works or not, especially when it comes to dry bags! Once something is wet, it usually stays wet until you return to civilization. I purchased (4) 100 Liter Seal Line dry bags in 2019. They worked flawlessly that spring in snow, sleet and rain. They also kept my clothes completely dry last fall when I was above the Arctic Circle. These bags when zipped shut are so air tight you could build a raft! The only reason I give them 4 stars instead of 5 is that I wish they used a slightly thicker material to help insure a decade of service.
Handle ripped off during first use
Took this duffel out for kayak camping and the bottom handle ripped off while the bag was empty. Terrible build quality that could have been catastrophic.
Great canoe pack for longer trips
Tough stuff. Waterproof! Easy to pack, load and carry. Held bulk of gear (not food) for a 8-day paddle in the North Cascades. Fits perfectly crosswise in a 18' Jesen canoe (narrow boat). Should fit most any tandem canoe. Carry straps work great for short distances, I might consider a pro pack for longer portages, but up to a mile or so should be fine. Appreciate the straps to tie on extra stuff. Would be nice to have a couple of simple interior pockets, but using multiple stuff sacks works fine and is more versatile.
Awesome versatility and durability
Love this bag. The back pack feature is great and I never have to worry about things getting wet whether I'm using it as a back pack for hikes, ski outings or at the pool/lake. The zipper takes a little effort but it's a worthy trade-off for getting a water proof bag. Highly recommend!
Trash zipper pull, good bag.
The zipper pull is attached by a thin string. The string doesn’t hold up to opening and closing the beefy zipper. The string holding the T handle on mine broke at week 2 of my 4 week trip in remote Alaska. Giving it 2 stars because the bag itself is great.
Outstandingly well built
Outstandingly well made. I use if search and rescue. It's nice to be be bale to put the gear in the back of a pickup truck in miserable weather and find your stuff nice and dry when you want tro chbnge back
