Nice tent, weak poles
Tent is a great size and nice design but the poles are fiberglass and not well made. The primary pole split at the seam while in the bag.
Perfect Shelter for the Mountain Lake Beach
Our family needed a roomy shelter to protect us from the sun and wind on the lake in the mountains. Lightweight and very portable yet well constructed and durable. Three adults could easily sit inside the cabana. One family member even sat inside on his low-profile camp chair. The floor extended out beyond the covered area to help keep the sand at bay and provide a picnic surface. And the three ventilation screens quickly zipped closed when we had a light cloudburst one day. Very durable and no signs of wear after using it our entire two week vacation, We checked out other similar shelters, but we are very glad we chose this Kelty product. Lots of features for the reasonable price paid.
Great for toddlers and wind at the beach.
After a week at the beach with this shelter i highly recommend it. On the windy cooler days it was good for protection from the wind and on the warmer days we just opened the side flaps for cool air flow. I have yet to see how comfortable it will be in hot 95 degree weather but i think it will be fine. We have a toddler so the front closing up is great solution for a shaded nap area. Set up is pretty straight forward, but is much easier with two people. If there is any wind stake it down first. So far this product has met all my needs and expectations. It held up great in the wind.

I've owned this product for several years now and can say it has become a standard for any beach day near home. It's easy to set up... takes maybe 5 minutes tops solo, less time with help. It's lightweight and compact when not set up. Keeps the bright sun away, and the flaps allow for airflow when there's a breeze (which is most days near the ocean). I can not imagine going to the beach without it at this point. (Unless on vacay with cabanas or the like). For the price, it's well worth the purchase. Five or six years later and absolutely no regrets on this purchase.
great beach shelter!
I don't know what folks were complaining about with set up. It was super easy if you know how to set up a tent. It took us all of 5 minutes to set up. We really appreciate the ability to close it up when we go for a walk so that people are not able to get up in our stuff. The sand bag anchors are pretty small. We just stuck rocks in the corners and the stakes worked suprisingly well in the sand. It held up much better in the wind than the cheap pop up one we replaced with it.
Room with a view
This tent shelter made our last beach visit ideal. It provided shade, protection from the wind and 180 degree view to the ocean. The side vent work well throughout the day. Our only wish would be a zipper closure at the door option rather than toggle buttons, it would provide a bit more privacy for changing and likely better for fending of the mosquitoes when we use it at the park.
Wonderful for the beach!
I have yet to use the tent that I ordered, but my friend has had the exact same one for a few years and I have been lucky to benefit from it on joint trips to the beach. It really makes such a difference, giving you shade regardless of sun position and a place to change out of your wet swimsuit in privacy. It's also nice to keep stuff that we've brought with us to the beach tucked away from the sun and sand.
Best Summer Purchase!
The Kelty cabana shelter has been my best purchase of the summer! It's light weight and very easy to assemble. The cabana holds up on a windy days at the beach. I am able to spend the entire day at the beach and not get sunburned. The cabana allow for 3 people.
Great for the beach
This did well on the beach, easy to set up once you know what you're doing. Sand bags help secure the structure, it held up to gusts on the beach. Fill the sand bags before you start setting it up and try to set it up once before you get to the beach. It worked really well until we got very strong winds just before a storm. Highly recommend.
