Good, but flawed. Needs a somewhat easy fix
We bought two of these because our two very active kids always make us carry their water bottles. The backpacks are fun and simple enough for our 5 & 7 yr old to use. They have two zipper pockets and an expandable outside pocket perfect for carrying a little camp towel. Unfortunately, the other reviews are correct. They leaks pretty badly. Both leaked the first time we filled them. The leak, for us, is where the tube connects to the bladder. The rubber tubes are just a little too loose and it allows water to slowly drip out, but drips faster under pressure. I implemented a simple fix by using some small zip ties to tighten up the connection spot. I am not sure if this is a known fix or not, but the time being, it seems to have fixed our issue. I applied pressure and left it for a short period of time to see if it would leak and it hasn't yet. We will put it through its paces this summer. All in all, I would say if you're willing to use a zip tie, then it's a good product. But it's hard for me to fully recommend it without that caveat because you shouldn't have to immediately repair a new product. It will be a pain to clean the tube because we will have to carefully cut the ties to try and avoid damaging the tube... not ideal. And with all that said, I am not even positive the fix will last.

It leaked at first but I fixed it

Ok so I bought this bag not knowing it was for kids. Im a really skinny 18 y/o and it fits me fine. It’s good if you just want a small bag. When I brought it home and filled it with water the thing started leaking right away and I was worried it was broken. So for a good 30min I experimented to see where it was leaking from and if I could fix it. And I found that the blue plastic ring that’s suppose to go under the screw lock thing when you close it was causing it to leak and if I screwed the thing on without it, it didn’t leak anymore. So if your bag is leaking don’t automatically assume the worst, see if yours has this stupid blue ring. You’re able to take it off with a little force so its not just dangling everywhere. I’ve had this thing for a couple days and it hasn’t leaked since. It’s really cool, actually has more space than it looks like it should have. I’m excited to take it to camp in the summer

Perfect

I try and keep my family active and I often run with a hydration pack. Because of this, all my kids wanted one. I bought one for my 7, 9, 11 and 12 year old kiddos this little pack fits them all. It was a little floppy on my 7 year old, but he managed to use it for a 9.9 mile mountain race/hike three weeks ago. It chaffed a bit, I just pulled his shirt up by his neck and he was good to go. Kids fill them with ease, good color variation so I know whose is whose, we are so happy. There are a million cheap packs out there, imho it is better to go with a quality product from the get go.

Perfect for my 4-year-old

Purchased this for my 4-year-old because he was always asking to drink from mine. We just took it on his first hike and he loved it! It’s the perfect size for him.

Does NOT come with Quick Connect hydration system

I have brand loyalty from using a few different Camelbak packs the past 18 years, so I bought the kids version Mini M. U. L. E. for my twins. I didn't notice when I placed the order that the included reservoirs don't use the Quick Connect system so I was more than a bit disappointed when I received them (though of course it's my fault for not reading more carefully). The Quick Connect system is much better than the standard port, in my experience, and makes for easier cleaning and storage. Other than the hydration system, the bags fit my tall five-year-olds and they love them. Also, for the "age" in the review profile, I'm using my kids' info.

CAMELBAK MINI MULE 1.5L PINK KIDS HYDRATION PACK

These are a great little backpack for kids. I got sick of stopping every 5minutes to give the kids a drink out of a traditional drink bottle. These backpacks are evenly weighted and small enough to fit their little bodies. With 1.5l of water storage, it's fantastic for long treks. The design is wonderful and it has ample storage for day trips. We were able to fit in a hiking towel, little first aid kit and some snacks. My girls aged 5 and 8 walked for 4 hours with these packs - no problems. I am a big fan and would highly recommend. I love the quality that comes with the Camelbak range. It is such a bonus that all the parts on the bladder can be replaced. If the kids chew through the bite valve it's easily replaced. The bite valve is easy to use and drink out of and the on/off valve stops leaks.

Leaked Right Away

I was so disappointed. This was a birthday gift for my son, and while he loved the pack, the bladder leaked at the tube connection as soon as we filled it. It looked like it is missing a piece between the tube and the connection point on the bladder so I requested and received a new tube assembly, but the replacement tube assembly had a completely different connection mechanism. I don't know if this pack uses an outdated version of the bladder, but wound up needing to return the pack as it was unusable. The pack itself was the perfect size for him, a cute design and functional if it had a non-leaking bladder.

CamelBak Mini Mule Kids Hydration System

Overall great product. The pack that the reservoir sits in is light with strong material. Some extra storage for things kids may want to pack along for the hike (ie snacks). The one thing we were a little disappointed in was the connection between the hose and the reservoir and the connection between the hose and the mouthpiece. Out of the box, the hose seemed overstretched and fell off the reservoir connection piece with little pull (same with the hose and mouthpiece). This caused lots of leaking - almost seems like it needed a new hose from the start.

My two kids took there

My two kids took there camelbaks out today for their first hike. They worked great up until about half way through, my youngest best said “something was missing” on his. Sure enough, the black adjustable clip for the nylon strap had ripped clean off. I tied it in a knot and continued. Big time bummer. My boys are ages 6 and 8 and they were instructed to take it easy with them and they did. This was its first use.
