Proper Dropper
This is a great dropper, especially if you do not have internal cable routing.
I really like this.
I have been using this thing for quite a while now and I feel confident to give a good review. I have not used any others, however and this is my first one. So, its been amazing, so far! Have not had any issues at all! Lately, my intuition has been telling me it has been slowing down slightly??? - very slightly and nothing of concern, though??? It could be something else and I have not investigated it because its been tolerable. I think it has to do with the post changing heights on me and I think that is related to my frame clamp - not the hydraulic part, but the part that clamps in... if that makes sense. And that is not related to this product. Nevertheless, it has been a game changer for me and I would not go riding without it! I really appreciate this thing!
Great dropper post
I’ve gone through about ten droppers in the last 20 years and this is by far the best. Super smooth action going up/down - no wobble or delays just always works as expected.
Solid dropper post for a reasonable price
I did a lot of research, trying to find the best bang for my buck, and I think I found it in this post. The travel is smooth and fast, and the extension/retraction has worked flawlessly so far. Installation was a breeze, and even with my less-than-great off-brand lever, it still functions solidly. It’s everything I wanted in a dropper, and at a very reasonable price point. I highly recommend!
I can’t believe I used to ride without a dropper
Owned for 2.5 years and still performs just like it did when I bought it in Issaquah. No internal routing on SS 69er, and right on the edge of being too long for the seat tube.
Loving it so far!
Easy to install, and feels like a good quality product. I've only taken it out a few times so far, but no complaints yet.
Great quality dropper!
Very smooth and fast! I really like the cable management as well.
Great seat post, drop it like it's hot!
This is an awesome post. I bought this when I upgraded my frame. Although the frame does have internal routing, I didn't like how hard the cable at kink to head up behind the seat tube from the bottom bracket. This was way simpler, easy to install, and operates smooth.
Excellent Dropper Post! No complaints.
I recommend the PNW Cascade dropper post for mountain bikes that don't have a means to route cabling inside the bike frame. The PNW Cascade dropper post has external cable routing. I had purchased this dropper post to replace / upgrade the regular factory seatpost that came with my mountain bike. I also purchased the PNW Puget 2x lever with this dropper post. Since installing it, I love it! The mechanism operatates smoothly the seat out of the way when I need it to be and extends the seat back up when want it back to normal height on rides out on the trails. Some word-of-advice suggestions for installation: 1. Buy a cable cutter if you don't already have one! (I bought a Milwaukee cable cutter which did the job. Klein Tools cable cutter is also very good, but it's a bit more pricey). Without a true cable cutter, you definitely won't be able to cut the cable sleeve and cable to proper length. I initially made the mistake of trying to use the wire cutter on my wire insulation stripper tool and ended up damaging my tool. The cable and cable sleeve is a lot tougher to cut without a cable cutter. 2. I bought a pack of bike cable clips from Amazon. You can also buy and use black cable ties / zip ties. But I think that using bike cable clips is much cleaner visually when installing / routing the dropper post cable to the lever. 3. There is an excellent PNW video on YouTube that shows how to install the Cascade dropper post with the Puget 2x lever.
Talk about a game changer with your saddle!!!
Wow, what an improvement! I originally installed this and with not too much problem, only had to call my buddy that's an old bike mechanic (which I highly reccommend) and at first, it was wierd but, I slowly got the feel for it. After a few rides, I could feel it as it slid up fast to help me get that leg extension I so desperately needed. Going down just took me putting my weight into it and i could put it wherever I wanted to keep me comfortable! It worked like a charm after I got used to it... and then I tried it with the saddle on! Talk about a night and day difference! My backside thanked me after i got out of the ER for all those days just breaking it in. I could've saved myself a hefty co-pay and 21 stitches if I put the saddle on first! Learn from me and make sure you put your saddle on and adjust it properly or its gonna be a lot of ice cream and soft foods in your diet for the next few months!
