I have been buying Salomon boots and trainers for over 10 years. I buy a new pair of boots every year and have tried nearly every style customised for my line of work ie the most heavy duty, yet lightweight, waterproof and warm in the most extreme conditions. These boots are by far the best. However if i was to give a bit of constructive criticism, which would help to make the “Perfect Boot”.... It’s weak point is where i have pointed to in the pics below. The leather has get really soft here and is already showing weakening at the seam. Which I wasn’t expecting this early after buying them. I’ll attach a picture of my last pair too. You’ll see this is where they failed last time. I hoping this can be rectified as i do love these boots. They have also come up a little bigger than normal, so I might try coming down from a 10.5 to a 10. Also would it be possible to make a pair with ballistic gel toe caps. This gel hardens on fast impact so can protect the toes
Took these on a Yukon hike in shoulder season. Good amount of snow and ice on the ground. Lots of off-terrain hiking over snow-covered talus. Seams separated within 12 hrs of the start of the hike, leaving me with soggy cold feet for the next 8 days. My hiking partner and I were both wearing Toundras, and all four boots failed in an identical manner pointing to a design issue. Look at the reviews at the other sites, multiple people are now reporting this exact failure. Stay away unless you enjoy wet, cold feet
Bought these boots to keep my feet warm and protected from the elements so I could do some walking in the winter. Now they are Junk! After a few months of walking the seams tore apart where the foot meets the toe! Boots with holes in them! Engineers need to create a flex point at this location to allow the boot to flex without the stitching tearing apart! 🤷♂️
These boots kept my feet warm but after about a week they started to leak. The front of the boot then started to come away from the rest of the boot and my week got soaked. This happened to both my pair and my girlfriends pair at the same time!

Started out as a strong contender for my all time favourite boot. After the first 150kms of hiking they started to deteriorate. I’ve now put close to 350kms on them and unfortunately their next journey is the trash. - outsoles started ripping +\- 150km - inside liner above heel separated after a 10k hike - waterproofing good for the first 200km Overall a good boot for casual wear but if you hike or plan on putting some distance on em don’t waste your money.

These boots are really warm and super comfy (5 stars for those qualities). I wear them with regular socks in negative10 C temps and my feet stay nice and toasty, but unfortunately, that is where the pros end for me. I got two pair of these during winter last year because the shipping company shipped two pair thinking one was lost in transit and they just told me to keep both. A hole wore in the outer part of the boot where your foot bends within a month or so on the first pair. Salomon replaced that pair under warranty. Winter season was over, so I saved the second pair for this years season (2017-2018). I am wearing the second pair now and the same hole has started again after about a month. I walk about 3 miles a day on paved sidewalks in them, so I shouldn't be exceeding any limitations of a boot. I definitely won't be purchasing them again. The price is far too steep to just get one month of use out of them.
Thanks for taking the time to share your experiences with the boots. We are sorry to hear that the same issue repeated itself on the 2nd pair of the boots. The warranty exists purely for issues such as this and I am glad to hear that we were able to help out with providing replacements for you. Again we wish to reiterate our appreciation for leaving the review on the boots.
I received these boots as a gift and on the third time lacing them up a hooked eyelet (speed hook, speed eyelet, many other names) pulled out. Even though I didn’t purchase them I would still think they would hold up a little better. Fit, feel, and warmth are good.

I purchased these as a Christmas gift for myself. It was hard not to wear them before Christmas but on Christmas Eve I had to open them due to the severe cold that hit everyone in the northeast. I was so excited to finally wear them since they are rated high for warmth. Especially since I’m a mail carrier at usps that’s outside all day. The laces have to be double knotted or will come loose within minutes. No biggie tho. Well I wore a pair of my Army issued wool socks with them and within 30 mins my feet were ice cold and numb!! I’ve loved ALL of my Salmomon products until now. So disappointed and don’t even know what to do with them now:(

I’ve been wearing my boots 8-4 Monday to Friday for a few weeks now during November 2023 endless rain and I’m very happy with the overall performance. I’m a dog walker and walk 20 dogs per day most days. We travel over different types of terrain, rocky coastline forests and muddy fields so it’s important to have a reliable waterproof boot. I’ve tried heavy duty welly’s but they don’t stand up to the driving duties also required for my job. The boots are the most expensive pair I’ve purchased so I’m expecting at least 12 months waterproof service.
I bought these boots at the beginning of the winter for my job as a lift operator in Colorado. They were waterproof for two weeks before my feet started getting soaked every day. These boots are not warm enough for walking in snow and they leak like crazy. I am usually a fan of Solomon shoes and love how they all feel like comfy running shoes, but these boots do not, they are significantly less comfortable (and less waterproof) than my Quest 4D boots. I’ve worn them all winter, and I have cold wet feet at work every day and have to bring a change of socks. Huge disappointment, would not recommend to anyone who lives somewhere with snow and real winters.
