TENAYA  Tanta Climbing Shoes

Great shoe for beginner climbers! I also have wide flat feet and I don’t feel any pain when using them.

Fits comfortably, climbs well, at an affordable price point. I climbed in these at a shoe demo recently, and was surprised by how great they felt on my feet. They aren’t ever going to be my “project” shoe, but as far as sitting in a pair of shoes comfortably during a 2 hour moderate gym sessions, the Tanta can’t be beat.

These were my first pair of climbing shoes and as someone with wider feet I was struggling to find a balance between performance and comfort. These shoes ended up becoming the perfect fit and I would recommend them to anyone. I’ve been wearing them regularly at the gym and they still look brand new.

The best entry level shoe I've tried, hands down. I was surprised how much performance I got out of this shoe at this price range. Has a tiny bit of downturn and asymmetry to give you more performance but is still super comfy. Fits wider. Won't grow out of it as quickly as other similar shoes.

These shoes are a great value for an entry level climbing shoe. For the price, you really can’t beat the combination of performance and comfort. I’d recommend them to anyone getting into climbing because they make the learning process way more enjoyable.

I ordered them online to ship to the store. I took them them knowing they weren't a good fit because these are wide and I have narrow feet. There's quite a lot of room in the toebox. I liked that they were vegan and specifically bought them because of that. However, I'm considering returning them because the rubber isn't as sticky as I had hoped. I was slipping off holds which I was doing fine with my worn through black diamond momentums.

I really like this shoe, I’ve tried multiple shoes from Tenaya, and they all fit differently which I love because I think anyone could find a Tenaya shoe that fits them. These are a great beginner/ intermediate shoe

I bought these from my local gym and they have been very comfortable and feel great on the wall. Tenaya makes great shoes, will definitely buy from them again.

The shoes run on the larger side so I went half a size down. I was testing alternatives to the Five Ten Moccasym. These shoes are comfortable like the Moccasym but less breathable so my feet ended up more sweaty. I get less sensitivity from these shoes in comparison as well. The rubber on these shoes are also slippery in comparison to the Moccasym C4 rubber by Five Ten.

These shoes were comfortable and affordable, but the toe box had very little rubber in one spot. I think it was just a manufacturing defect because otherwise the shoes were good. The rubber wasn't that sticky though. Thanks REI for exchanging them!
