Damages my softshell pants

This is a good quality, functional, basic harness. My problem is that it uses a coarse fabric that causes significant pilling on my softshell pants after only 1/2 day of wear. Now I've got a $60 harness that damages my $150 softshell pants.

Good harness for med/low danger winter stuff.

Well made, very basic harness. If I did it again, I'd probably go with the lighter weight version but this is a totally serviceable harness for skimo/glacier travel/mountaineering, etc. Simple enough to figure out for an unstructured harness (which means a couple minutes getting things twisted the right way) and you're good to go. Packs pretty small, is pretty light, it's fine.

Easy on and off even with crampons

The harness is easy to put on and take off. It is a diaper style that even with crampons on it can be easily put on or take off. I would like it to have 4 gear loops. But honestly 2 works out well. I have thick legs. The XL with insulation layers fit well and I even have space for more layers. The legs however, not so much. They fit properly if I wear only one thin base layer and softshell pans. If I need to wear something thicker it doesn’t fit. What I have done in order to make it work is add a three inches extension. Petzl does not make it. It is something I made and works well. I’m not the only one that has this issue. Manufacturers should take in consideration the amount of clothing we wear during mountaineering. I mean if i’m at the crag then yes, it fits well. But again. Not everyone has muscular legs, I guess. But that is my only problem. But it is not only with this harness. It is with just about every harness out there. since my problem may be unique to me. I'm still giving it 5 stars
