Very sturdy but not for the gram counter.
These take abuse and you could submerge your gear, nothing is getting wet inside if you role the top 2-3 times. These aren't heavy by any means but there are lighter (albiet more expensive) options. If you want a practical stuff sack that will outlast the ultralight stuff, these are what you want! If you are counting 1/2 grams and have extra money, you could find lighter things that are still waterproof.

Durable, but size is exaggerated.

Quality material and incredibly durable. Only complaint is the volume of each bag is significantly exaggerated. Especially the orange bag marked 5L. It is the same width and only 1.5 inches longer than the 2L bag.

Not “dry” bags

I bought this a couple months ago and finally have been able to put them to good use on both rafting and paddle boarding trips. I’m not a huge fan of the material- it’s pretty stiff but keeps its shape well. On the raft, depending on where it is located, it will keep items inside dry- even when hitting big rapids. But when I was paddle boarding the river, and had these rigged to the front of the boat to haul a little bit of gear, the items on the top of the bag were damp and there were drips of water inside from the waves crashing over the front of the board, even with rolling the top 3-4 times. I’d invest in better dry bags if it’s really important to keep the stuff inside bone dry.

very stiff opening

I bought these because I wanted to get some smaller dry bags than the ones I already own. They are stiffer than my other dry bags especially the opening area. After I roll the opening 3 times and try to buckle, it's so stiff so buckling feels way harder than my other dry bags. Not sure it's because it's smaller so buckling is naturally harder or not. I didn't try the waterproofness at all since this already doesn't pass my bar.

They Work

They work as expected. Have used on three trips. Mostly rivers that are basically flat water. Strap them to the top of my paddle board or kayak and they keep my stuff dry. I like that they feel rugged, not like the thin, but lighter dry bags out there. Not a negative, but they are not perfect cylinders, more of an oval shape.

Dry Outdoor Emergency Storage Solution!

I got a great deal on these well-made dry bags in the REI “Outlet”.Bought not for camping,or kayaking, but to store emergency supplies in the back seats of my SuperCrew pickup. They do a wonderful job of keeping everything “bone dry” and protected from dampness while parked outside in the Winter. Buy ‘em!

Durable, but needs improvement in design.

Quality material and workmanship. The bags are thick and durable, but they are not circular on bottom and too skinny. Would be better if the same volume, but wider and shorter and if the bottom was flat and round to stand up with items in it. A close try, but needs some tweaks. Overall, would still recommend as a good durable set of bags.

ALP Water Proof Pack Bags

These are great for my 40L Water Proof Grab & Go back pack. I organized each ALP Bag to include survival items such as shelter, camping/cooking and cold weather specialty gear. All can be easily removed from the Go bag with out fear of getting wet. Keeps gear wellorganized and easy to acess , close and go !!!

Buckles cracked after minimal use.

Buckles cracked after minimal use. Can't believe REI is still selling these as i bought them on closeout years ago. Arguably a good deal if you are only going to use them a few times.
