Thicker rope that handes well - probably five stars (read below)

Normal rope, everything you'd expect. It has stayed somewhat slippery and I mean that as a positive because it handles better than some thicker ropes. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because somehow it developed a partial core-shot/weakness with zero sheath damage and I have no recollection of any incidents that make sense causing that. It's at 13m so that's a bit odd because it's been treated well and no one was whipping that. I completely accept that there could be a really logical explanation from use and abuse, but I cannot think of it and I've never encountered mysterious damage so high up with no incident. I'm sure most people would whip on this rope still but I err on the side of peace of mind.

Very nice!

Contrary to another review - this is not too thick for standard belay devices (think Grigri's, Jul's, tube style). Paying out slack is a breeze. I've also found this to be very abrasion resistant, have had to do some sketchy rapps on this bad boy and show's zero signs of wear almost two years in.

great rope

Had this for a couple months, handles well, works well in ATC or GriGri, very dynamic on TR falls, a little heavy leading (compared to similar ropes) but all in all this thing is a workhorse. Would definitely buy again. Also the design/colors look awesome in real life (kinda hard to appreciate in the stock photo)

Pretty great!

I used this rope constantly for 3 years. Used mostly for sport climbs on lower angle slab and overhanging pitches. Used it for top roping and in the gym as well. Great rope for beginner climbers. This rope is definitely not meant for multi pitches, it will get the job done but a thinner rope makes a noticeable difference. I prefer using an Edelrid Mega jul for multi pitches, but I found the rope is too thick to use with the mega jul. I recently found a dead spot near the end of my rope. I've cut it off and it is now exclusively a gym rope.

Great work horse for top rope or sport climbing

I’ve have this rope for 8-10 months now and I’ve been extremely happy! It was my first rope and I use it practically every week for top roping. I’m more than likely going to buy it again when it’s time to replace my current one. It is slightly more weight than other diameter ropes but for the sense of security I don’t mind a little bit extra weight

Pretty solid workhorse of a rope. Great for the lower angle routes where the rope may go over some edges. This rope also makes a great top roping rope, with its thickness and somewhat better durability. My only complaint is I would've like to seen more pitches outta the rope before retirement. But each individuals mileage may very! For what it's worth I bought the same rope as a replacement. This is now my second rope of this model.

last choice rope

was my first rope. 10.2 is mega-thicck. too thick for conventional belay devices. It's challenging to pay out rope quickly because belay devices all cant let go of it, so we short rope each other more than necessary. The thickness lends itself to considerable weight, you definitely feel the rope's weight when clipping a bolt at the top of the pitch. I don't know why this thickness exists.

A great workhorse

I got this rope on recommendation from a friend who said this rope helps you work on routes and feel secure. He was totally right, the added bonus of always working with this thicker rope is that when I switch to my other rope (the crag we care 9.5, we call ours sprinkles!) for multi pitches or to send a difficult climb, I feel so strong and conditioned from always using the thicker rope. Love having this as my first rope.

Great Rope

Shipped very fast. Great overall rope and very inexpensive for the quality. Being caught by this bad boy felt like being plucked from the air and set down gently in a pit of down pillows. Not your meemaw’s rope from the 80’s—smooth as butter. Great rope for people just getting into climbing. I will definitely keep using this in the future. Lucky to score this guy at 60 percent off when I did! Thanks Mammut.

Nice Rope!!

It's a thick rope!! Very nice beginner rope. This was my first rope and it set me up well with climbing at the crag. I have recently upgraded ropes and cut my 60 meter in half. I am loving it as a gym rope. 60 meters of a 10.2 mm rope is a little heavy so it's not worth it unless you are climbing somewhere that needs that much rope. I highly recommend this rope to anyone looking to buy their first rope!
