outstanding build quality
This pump is over-engineered which I appreciate. Very powerful and accurate floor pump. The lever locking chuck allows for inflations without air seepage. The only thing I would recommend to Silca is to use a sapphire crystal (instead of the plastic lens) for the gauge; I know that would spike the MSRP a bit but would be worth it. Let me be completely honest - is this pump for everyone? Absolutely not! However, if you are a cycling nut and marvel over design, build quality and performance; then yeah, this is an amazing piece to add to your kit. Thanks to REI for super fast shipping too!!!
Only buy this if you're obsessed!
Okay, was this the stupidest purchase I've ever made? Honestly, that thought crossed my mind as I pressed the 'complete purchase' button. But two weeks later I'm convinced it is a luxury purchase that puts a smile on my face for its absolute precision, and because I'm pumping up 3 bikes, 2 tubeless and one with tubes, I'm getting a lot of smiling in. I've owned at least 10 floor pumps over a span of 50 years of riding and road racing, and this will be the last (it's in the name, "Ultimate"). Superb materials, wonderful manufacturing tolerances and intelligent design--it's AI free too.
Best pump money can buy
This is the absolute best pump you can buy bar none. The quality far exceeds anything else out there. Ignore the other review as that poster had no idea what they were buying since they thought it was supposed to have a cord. It’s not an air compressor it’s a hand pump. Anyway if you like high quality things you will appreciate this pump.
Best...pump...ever!
Yes folks, it works as good as it looks. Pumps like a beast and every part is serviceable. Super handy that multiple heads are available and 2 different guages (hi/lo range) can be installed. Think about the bicycle tools in your garage that get used literally every day, every time you ride. Trust me, worth every penny.
good pump and nice to look at
I'm not a paid actor!! Just a customer with my own opinions about gear. I like this pump and have one in my garage. I enjoy using it and looking at it like the fine art it is. I guess the only problem I found with it was how it plugs in the wall. I was going to send it back due to the power cord missing, however when I emailed that question, the nice customer service person at Silca advised me this was not a powered pump. I felt so stupid (fault of my own) I spend almost $500 on a manual pump. I guess my opinion for you looking to buy a nice pump would be to read every word before you ADD TO CART!! I decided to keep the pump as a lesson for my Grandkids. Even us older people get got sometimes. I'm reminded everyday I admire my expensive bike pump. Its a nice pump and works as it should.
