You're not committed to one style—you're just as likely to hit flowy trails after work as you are to bikepack gnarly singletrack on the weekends. The Salsa Horsethief SLX 29 bike lets you do both.

  • Features

    • The smooth-shifting Shimano SLX group and powerful 4-piston braking leave you with 2 fewer things to worry about
    • Horsethief Geometry combines a 67° head tube angle, 432mm chainstays and overall wheelbase length to promote confident descending while retaining slow-speed maneuverability
    • A short stem, wide bar and longer effective top tube are used to place the rider in the same position they are familiar with on their older trail bike
    • Revised anti-squat design is 1x specific and optimized around a 32-tooth chainring for better pedaling performance without the need to over-damp or lock out the rear shock
    • Heat-treated 6066-T6 aluminum chainstays add durability
    • With 140mm front and 120mm rear suspension, this bike is ready to tackle all the trails on your bucket list
    • Metric shock standard requires lower air pressures, resulting in increased stiffness in rear triangle/rear suspension frame members and the ability to fine-tune ride quality
    • Split Pivot® features a pivot in line with the rear axle that isolates pedaling and braking forces for more traction and control when climbing, descending or cornering
    • Horsethief can run 29er or 27.5 wheels thanks to Flip Chip technology; max tire width is 29 x 2.6 in. or 27.5 x 3.0 in. (27.5 in. wheels not included)
    • Flip Chip technology integrated into the shock link mount allows quick adjustments to bottom bracket height and head tube angle with just a hex key or multi-tool
    • In high mode, Flip Chip sets head angle 0.5% steeper and bottom bracket 4mm higher for quicker turns and more pedal clearance, ideal for technical terrain and 27.5 wheels
    • In low mode, Flip Chip sets head angle 0.5% slacker and bottom bracket 4mm lower for stability at speed and lower center of gravity, ideal for flow trails and 29er wheels
    • Top tube accessory mounts bolt on your Salsa EXP Series top tube bag (not included) for a secure connection and elimination of strap wear
    • All sizes accommodate 2 full-size (26 oz.) water bottles within the front triangle
    • Internal tubes guide cable housing through the frame, simplifying setup and maintenance and creating a clean bike profile
    • Stealth dropper post routing compatible (fits 30.9mm diameter posts); comes with a TranzX YSI05 dropper post
    • Pedals not included
