Runs large, otherwise great!
I usually wear size 11. Had to go to a 10 for these, the 11 was way too long and I would have been tripping over the toe. Now that I have the right fit, I can really appreciate how lightweight and comfortable these are. They’ll get a lot of use, so I’ll update if the durability is any less than five stars.

How do I hate these? Let me count the ways...
WOW DO I HATE THESE SANDALS. I was "forced" into buying them when the soles finally fell off my 15 year old Tevas in the middle of a long bicycle tour. The REI in Missoula MT had not a single pair of Tevas (!!! really???), of any model, in my size (10) so I had to select something else. The Chacos were the lightest, simplest option so that's what I chose. The footbed is too long for my feet and doesn't curve up enough at the toe end to prevent me from tripping, literally over my own feet. I was CONSTANTLY tripping because I would drag the toe of the sandal about every tenth step, even on smooth level pavement. It's amazing I never actually fell. No matter how hard I tried, I could not get my feet positioned far enough forward to avoid the tripping thing; they kept sliding backward. The cinch strap jams regularly, making the sandals difficult to take off or put on until I clear the jam. In the worst case, I had to actually cut several fibers to clear the jam. It's especially difficult WHEN (not IF) the strap works its way around so it's no longer exactly parallel to the buckle. There's not enough security and stability in the strapping, so my natural gait (strike slightly pigeon-toed on the outsides of my heels, roll forward and twist slightly to push off my big toes) tended to push the sandals so that they were crooked on my feet, and not supporting the outside of my foot.

Awful.

I've been wearing chaco's for the last two decades and decided to give this version a try. I honestly don't know how they managed to get through quality control, there are so many things wrong with them, here's the list. Adjustment Impossible The singular strap makes it impossible to consistently fit the sandals. They will always be too loose, too tight, or in the wrong position. Toe Drag Because the adjustment is impossible to get right, when the foot is too far back the toe will drag, tearing up the front of the sandals Straps too short The pull tabs on the strap ends are too short. The only way to easily pull them tight is to pinch the tag under the strap. Needing a strap to reach your strap is spectacularly dumb. Buckles too small Want to undo the sandals using your opposite foot like you've bee doing for the last twenty years, ha ha too bad! The buckle is too small to flip up with the toe of the sandal. Heel droop The straps will droop on one of your heels, causing them to ride lower and making you feel imbalanced. Which heel will droop? Who knows, it's different every time. Honestly, I'm every bit as amazed as everyone else here is that these sandals are as screwed up as they are. Nobody who has ever worn a pair of chacos would possibly give the okay to this design.

Blisters and Low Durability

1. Footbed sticks out by the toes and drags on ground which causes the soft foam to easily shred 2. Leather strap holder on inside of shoe causes hot spots almost immediately. I have had these shoes for 2 years and still get blisters every time. 3. Stitching/glue on leather strap holder falls apart quickly and causes foot to sag toward the back of the shoe. Just get the regular classic chacos, they are way more comfortable and durable. If looking for a lightweight camp shoe then maybe look at something like the Xero Z-Trail.

Not the Chaco you love and know!

I have been rocking this brand for 15 years! I have had them re-souled for free by the company and love them so much I should work for them. That being said...these are Chinese made, with subpar glue holding the rear straps of each sandal to the side sole. Also the soul is not made by the initial sole brand we all know perform well. The straps starting coming apart from the sole after about 5-10 uses and I returned them! Thanks REI for being great about that! I cannot encourage you enough to find another solution. I’ve heard you can still find the same brand, we all know and love, online, American made. I imagine REI will soon address the problem!

not worth it

Bought these for a rafting trip and they were not at all up to the Chaco standard. Forget about foot positioning, the back strap will be loosened and you’ll be riding so far back on them you can barely walk (unless you cinch them so tight your feet can’t even move). Also the leather fabric side panel thing rubs your foot weird and for me left a mark. Even if you just want these for a sandal, just stick with the normal chacos… I will definitely be returning these.

Broke

Had these for about two years and I really liked them, but the side flap broke and they're unusable. Chaco doesn't support repairing this type.

Straps are a bit small

I typically wear a 9.5 wide. You're supposed to go up a size in Chacos but when I tried that I kept catching the front of the toe and tripping. My last pair of Chacos I had were 9's and they worked for years. I replaced the straps and the sole and wore them for years more! I bought these in a 9 and the sole/footbed fit but the straps could be longer. I'll keep them, but they would be a lot easier to get on and off if the straps were long enough to loosen up and tighten down as necessary.

Had to return these

I was excited when my local store had these in my size. "Finally Chaco made a sandal that doesn't weigh 5 lbs" I thought. Took them on a short hike the same evening, and my feet kept slipping back off the heel edge of the footbed, because the heel strap connects to the buckle, so any slack whatsoever gets pulled by your heel. Even when I tightened them more than I felt was comfortable, my foot slipped backward. It's especially noticeable when climbing hills.

Feels great but a major problem with buckle system

The sandal was very comfortable and I like how light it was. Unfortunately, I had to return it due to a major problem with the buckle system. Shortly after getting it, I started noticing problems loosening the buckle to loosen the strap. The teeth of the buckle would dig into the strap so it couldn't get loose. It eventually caused the strap to fray and then it would get even harder to loosen. I'm not sure if this is a problem with the buckle or the strap itself but I suspect it has to do with the adjustable ankle strap causing the strap to get pulled in a funny way from both directions.
