This is my second pair. I wore out the first. They are really comfortable and well worth the price.

New not what the Old was.

I bought this pair of sandals as a replacement. The dog ate the previous one which were only a couple years old. This replacement, same model, was not built the same and not nearly as comfortable as the original ones. The fit and size were all correct, just a different quality today.

Poor quality compared to older versions

Worse quality than older sandals. I had a pair of these that are several years old that I loved and wanted to replace, but this is not the same quality shoe at all. The sole on the pair I have now was multi-layered for flexibility plus strength. The part of sole that contacted the feet was a soft leather with ventilation so feet stayed cool. New shoes just have one piece rubber soles and the part connecting the feet is all rubber. Old ones were made in USA. New ones made in Vietnam. So Keen is going cheap and ruining quality of product. So disregard older positive reviews. Not the same shoe.

Defective leather for sandal strap

Very comfortable and good for casual walking, not long distance. Unfortunately, the leather holding the plastic strap clip failed and cannot be repaired. I bought these in January 2023 and there is plenty of tread left on the sandals. Since this defect seems impossible to repair I am going to have to buy new sandals. I am going to reach out to Keen to see what they do about this type of defect.

Really comfortable but do Velcro and water mix?

Like most Keens these are very comfortable. The footbed is grippy but not overly so like ate a can be. The traction is great, even on wet surfaces. The straps do not produce hot spots when walking. I do use them in water related activities and the hook and loop is not as strong when the shoes are wet. This was why I bought Tevas last time but this time the comfort of the Keens won. So far the Velcro has held strong even when swimming in them. Fingers crossed.

Toenail Saver

Too much hiking created issues with my toe nails. These sandals are great to hike in. Sometimes I wear them with socks.

They are perfect

First about sizing. I wear 11 in adidas shoes and 11.5 in Nike shoes and always wear size 12 in slides and most sandals so I went for size 12 in these keen sandals and they were absolutely perfect. They are not big by any measure they fit perfectly. I have bigger than usual ankles so that’s where I would have loved to see some extra room but not to worry they fit just fine on the outer limit for me personally. These sandals are very rugged and perfect for hiking as long as you don’t hike on a gravel surface which is what I had to do to climb higher to the hiking path but even gravel did not stop me from enjoying my hike in keen sandals. Not they are wonderful for hiking but if you plan on just walking in these then I’d recommend wearing something with a bit more cushioning on the bottom. These aren’t very cushiony? If I can say it that way but they are great for climbing rocks and having a good grip. But for standing around maybe not these. You did submerge these in water and like the description claims they are definitely water proof as in they do not get ruined by getting them wet as ordinary leather shoes would. These are definitely one of my favorite shoes if I can call it that. Enjoy…

Decent sandal but No arch support & long straps

Appears to be a nice pair of sandals. The strapped Targhee 3 open toe model is relatively better than the fishermen-type closed sandal of the Newport design. This model has a much better fit than the KEEN Men's Newport Closed Toe Leather Sandals size 11 1/2 and more of a True to Sizes fit than the similarly sized Newport model which has a Wide Toe Box design which is more roomy than expected. The leather seems soft and durable but time will tell on its durability. It's hard to tell the size as Every sandal and shoe maker's sizes are Not universally consistent so it's better to try an actual pair on physically than order online. Improvements needed: 1. Cushioning... foot bed cushioning is almost Non-existent, thin and needs Much Cushioning! 2. Arch support is Non-existent! NOT good for flat footers if you use all day. For the occasional short walks or light use, it's acceptable. For Long walks or hikes, forget it! Barely enough room to insert orthotics! 3. Outsole itself is slightly softer and thinner than many stiffer Teva sandals. Questionable how long the sandals' bottom sole will last. 4. The straps are TOO Long! The straps are Too long and hangs over and the velcro portion is on the End when it should be more towards the Middle of the strap. Not everyone has Big feet! The straps need to made Shorter which should then correct the velcro location. 5. Prices are more expensive considering the lack of cushioning and arch support, which are Both Needed for sandals. 6. Country of manufacture is misleading and Wrong! Keen's description states 'Made in the USA' which is WRONG as the stamp inside the sandals read 'Made in Vietnam'.

Falling apart already

The grip pads on the bottom are falling off after less than a month of wearing these around inside and out in the backyard. No heavy use but they are already failing, not good f0r a $129 shoe!

Traps Gravel pain to get out

Although these sandals are very comfortable, I would never buy them, again. They have a rim around the perimeter of the sandal which cradles your foot. This is all well and good if you only walk on paved surfaces. However, if are walking on gravel surfaces, it tends to trap gravel in the bottom of the sandal and you can’t just pick your foot curl your toes to push the sandal away from your foot and have the gravel fall out. With my Tevas, I could

Another pair of Keen's

Went in to the local REI store with the intention of buying a different brand of sandals. Liked the style but they didn't have my size. Tried another style but they just weren't the style that were as sturdy as the first pair. Salesperson suggested the Keen's. I have multiple pairs of Keen shoes since their style fit my feet and I am sold on their quality. Tried these on and was sold. Even felt better than the first pair I tried on. What can I say? Sold!
