Sizing Notes
Rock Shoes: Scarpa recommends you downsize 1/2 to 2 full sizes from street shoe size, though downsizing depends on shoe model, intended use and personal preference.
Mountaineering: Scarpa recommends you upsize 1/2 size or more depending on desired fit. Scarpa plastic mountaineering boots are based on the UK sizing scale.
Ski Boots: All Scarpa ski bootsare measured in Mondo sizing.Highlighted (or not) sizes share the same shell size; the liners are lasted for each 1/2 size. Some skiers may want to downsize up to 1 full Mondo size, depending upon personal preference.

Great brand, a little weak on durability
The boot is a great boot and works well just about everywhere short of expedition conditions. They'll take crampons and mini-spikes easily. It's good on forest trails, scree, rocks, and snow. They do run a bit small. My problem with the boot is that the interior started to wear and come apart after about 250 miles of use. This was particularly in the area of the heel and heel cup. This boot should go several times this without issue. Add to this that I'd not used these in harsh condition or with a fully loaded pack, and this should not happen. REI took them back, and I'm trying another pair to see if I just had bad luck.
Great all around mountain boot.
I have used them on everything from dry class 3 scrambles to glaciers/ice on mount rainier. Very sturdy boot, remained dry in water crossings of a few inches. I have not tried these on vertical ice nor winter mountaineering so I can no speak on warmth in extreme temperatures. It almost bridges the gap between a heavy hiker and a 4 season mountaineering boot.
Toe box height
I've used pairs of the previous version (green & gray) of these boots for years and liked them. I bought an extra pair just as they were discontinued for this new version. But those have worn out now, so I just bought these orange ones. I may have to return them, though. The boot has enough of length, and enough width, but the toe box presses down on my big toe uncomfortably. The previous version of this boot had a taller toe box. That is the only issue I have with it. Unfortunate. They are nice boots except for this one issue. I normally wear a size 11.5-12 shoe, but got size 47's here. The previous version I wore 46.5's just fine. Anyone know of a crampon compatible light mountaineering boot with a taller toe box?
Excellent for PNW climbing
Tight toe box as others indicated. Twice up Ranier comfortably with these and I wasn’t thinking about my feet until the last part of the descent to Paradise. My toes were a bit numb from banging against the front of the toe box, even after adjusting the tightness of the boots. In hindsight, I should have sized up from 45.5 to 46. For comparison, I wear an 11 running shoe. I found the width with wool socks to be fine - never blistered. Worked great with Grivel 12 crampons.
Solid "B2" light mountain boot for wider feet.
Solid Scarpa quality lightweight mountaineering boot with a B2 welt for semi-auto crampons. Some forefoot flex for hiking comfort with some loss of "platform" for front pointing but a little nicer for rock. Run a little small. Start at 1/2 size up and likely settle for a full size over street to accommodate appropriate socks. Narrow feet need not apply.
Much better for the money than expected
Been climbing serious mountains since 1965, including Denali. For the money these boots do it all and fit my feet perfectly (narrow heel, size 11) Was really impressed with them for both just hiking locally and for climbing Mt. Hood. After realizing they were really outperforming many more expensive boots, I checked the bottoms and to my surprise there was almost no wear. Again, they fit me PERFECTLY and maybe that's the key.
Perfect
Surprisingly good out of the box. I hiked Si to break them in(old trail). Had no issues up or down. Good fit for me and my foot shape which is wider in the toes. Did some snow hiking the next day too. Feet stayed dry and warm with just light/ med hiking socks. I could feel the cold from the snow on my toes while stopped but it wasnt uncomfortable or noticable while hiking. It was warm though. We will see how warm they stay in cold conditions. Looking forward to many summits in these.
Boot Review
This is a great mountaineering boot to use to go up Rainier and Middle Sister (early June time). Looking forward to going up more mountains with them.
Unexpected
I have this boots for 2 years or winters,I am extremely surprised how perform in a cold and wet conditions.Very comfortable and durable, also I used in hunting season just keep in mind that you may need to size up.
The Standard Mountaineering boot.
Arguably THE Standard for a general mountaineering boot. Plenty warm, very comfy, and great performance. Unfortunately, Scarpas run too wide for my feet, so I exchanged them for a narrower boot.
