For boots: Add one half size to your street shoe size. You should be able to slip one finger behind your heel when you are standing up with the boot unlaced and your toes touching the front. If the boot is too short, your toes will get smashed walking downhill. Too long and your heel will slide up and down and give you blisters.

Glue failed after wearing only a few times! I had been storing them inside and everything. Very suprised as usually la sportiva is a reliable brand for me.
I had the older blue color that I bought last summer when I started climbing. They are super comfortable, and they just started falling apart a month or so ago (going to the gym 4-5 days a week pre-covid), so I bought the new versions. While I've used them outside, I almost exclusively use them for indoor gym climbing, and they aren't just for beginners. They've comfortable enough to be able to keep on for an entire 2 hour gym session, but can still grip just fine on slab, wall features, and they work for gym cracks. From beginning on 5.5's a year ago, up to 5.11's now, they can do it all, and not kill your feet. Would I use them exclusively outside? No, but they work in a pinch when I don't want to keep taking off the more aggressive shoes.
I started climbing 2 months ago. I'm usually street shoes 7.5-8 and have narrow-ish feet, and because I was told as a beginner to size up 1, I debated between 8.5 and 9 for these. The 9 felt comfy out of the box while 8.5 felt somewhat tight but I figured they would stretch, so I got the 8.5. Two months later they feel a little big, not loose but there's more space than I'd like, and I wish I'd actually gotten the 8. My sister who wears 8-8.5 street shoes also began climbing and my now stretched out 8.5 fit her perfectly, so I suppose I'll just buy myself a new pair. I'd recommend just going with your regular shoe size; maybe lean on the larger side if you're between sizes. I climb top rope sometimes but boulder most of the time (2-4 times a week) and these felt pretty comfortable after the 5th time climbing in them. I'm not too sure they're the best bouldering shoes but they're definitely a good place to start for beginners, since they're comfortable, fit well, pretty versatile for the limited skillset that beginners generally have, and very affordable.
This is such a great beginner shoe for those starting out climbing wanting to upgrade from the gym shoes. I have a really narrow foot and these fit perfectly. I wear a 6.5 street shoe, 7 running shoe in mizunos and got a 37. I wore them for about 5-6 months bouldering indoors about 3 times a week and then wore through the toes. Definitely planning on resoling as I love these shoes and will be good to have after upgrading to a more aggressive pair.
I typically wear an 8.5 street shoe and ordered a 40.5 in this shoe. It fits perfectly, at least for now. I’m hoping they don’t stretch too much. I am a hobby climber at the gym, so I’ve only used them on the wall, but they’re great so far. Very comfortable and do what I need them to.
I have no problem smearing in these, and it is a great shoe for building confidence in your feet. I have really narrow feet with long first two toes and the outer edge are so tiny, my foot moves around in these. Unfortunately not great for my foot frame, i need something with a smaller toe box. Other than that I love these and will keep these for some gym and maybe outdoor use on slab climbs. Pretty impressive shoe.
Bought these for my girlfriend in September. She climbed in them maybe 6-7 times. Come December, the soles peeled off and delaminated. The ones I got a few years ago were fine. Something must have changed with newer shoes.
I ordered a 37.5 because I wear a 6.5-7 womens...well they were uncomfortably tight, even if i was sitting it was still painful. I returned them and ordered a size 38 and they are still so tight to the point that my toes are squished. Hopefully as i begin to climb in them, i’ll be able to stretch them.
This was the very first pair of shoes I bought when I was starting to climb and for a beginner these are super comfortable since there’s little to no downturn in the shoes. The rubber is definitely sticky enough that you’ll stay on the holds at the gym and you won’t feel so uncomfortable that you need to take them off after every climb. Definitely a great beginner choice before you get something more aggressive or a great option if you just want something more comfortable
Shoes fit really well and are comfortable for climbing. I enjoy the fact that these lace up. They are very secure. These are my first pair and would recommend.
