Low quality - nothing at all like the predecessor
I was excited to see my favorite brand of REI socks refreshed. This is the third incarnation of this 2-pack of affordable socks. They are my daily drivers and my last bunch are starting to get holes and it was time to replace them. These ain't it though. These literally feel like I bought a 10 pack of cheap Hanes socks from WalMart. No padding, super cheap feeling material, not soft in the slightest. I'd much rather REI have raised the price of these than to lower the quality. These socks are terrible!
Kept my feet dry and happy!
I just got these socks for the first time and I am very pleased with them. They kept my feet dry and happy for my long day hike. I particularly noticed that the socks weren't too thick. This is a recent pet peeve of mine, I've had some hiking socks that are so thick, my feet feel crammed into my trail shoes and by the end of the day, they are a hot stinking mess. These socks didn't feel that way at all. They are the perfect thickness and have a cool-dry kind of temperature control. I am pleased!
Sizing too large
I wear a men’s 10.5 or 11 and purchased the L/XL socks. When I pull the socks on all the way the heel cushion comes up to my Achilles. If I wear the heel of the sock actually in place on my heel there is a half inch of material left flopping at the end of my toes. Maybe if you wear a 12 or 13 the L/XL would fit but anything less than that I’d go for a M.
Good deal
Nice basic socks with enough cushioning. I wear these to run my dog in the morning in the summers. I usually move to smartwool come late fall. These wash well and keep their shape.
REI brand socks
Bought these socks to do some hiking in Zion and Bryce Canyon on a recent road trip. Socks were really affordable compared to some other brands and preformed well. My feet paired with a good pair of trail shoes were dry and comfortable the whole time.
Good lightweight hiking socks
Soft feel against the feet. Easy on/off.
Works fine
I’m a size 10 and the L/XL seemed weird but it works fine. I wouldn’t run in these or do anything super active as they feel like they’ll stretch too much and give blisters but for doing yard work, they’ll work. Maybe kinda like your standard department store socks. We will have to see if they last longer though
Good socks
These socks fit well are durable and breathable. My feet didn't feel hot or sweaty after a day on the trail or a day at work. Really, they are just good, solid socks. I like the reinforced toes and heels...this gives a little extra cushion and also some more life in the high wear spots.
Happy & Dry Feet
I have sweaty feet that get cold. Always preferred cotton socks. Got 2 pair of these & tried them out. i really like them & bought 6 more pairs.
keeps feet cool
These socks keep my feet cool; however, I would prefer they be a little thicker at the ball of the foot and heel for added cushion/comfort.
