Excellent large underseat bag for commuting

I strap this bag to easily transfer to/from any one of 3 bikes I use to commute. I use this bag as the only bag to transfer my clothes / jackets and tools tubes 20 miles per day. The bag easily slips out when unclipping adjustable straps that hold it onto the seat and seatpost. The bags configured like any dry bag, folding the top a couple of times and folding over to clip and seal bag. When climbing, and the bag is full, it is possible to feel the 'wagging' as the bag swings with each pedal stroke but not that much. Love this bag and would absolutely recommend to anyone who needs a solid well built waterproof bag for bike camping or commuting. I would not recommend this bag for folk who just need a bag to buy groceries or run errands.

Super easy and fun to use

Used this for the first time the other day and it was awesome. Great to be able to remove the bag from the harness to pack/unpack. I loved using it, as did the bird I found building a nest in the harness the next morning.

Super slick

Not sure what sjill is talking about. This pack is very solid, the new version doesn't shift nearly as much as my friends' older versions and the drybag itself slips easily and quickly out of the frame set-up when you get somewhere and don't want to leave all your valuable stuff outside. Also quite light for how much stuff fits safely and dry inside. I've heard Revelate is very good with warranty, too, although I wouldn't know from experience since it's still is great condition.

great for daily commuting

Bought this for commuting purposes, as i did not want to (and could not anyway) attach heavy panniers or other rack type system. Been using for a year, through rain, sun, snow...and no issues. Acts as (partial) mud guard too. Main reason for buying is to easily remove/attach dry bag when i arrive/leave office. Some sway when pedaling hard while standing but not really noticeable unless you are fully packed. Would highly recommend for lighter weight commuting option. (I use together with a 6L evoc slim backpack to carry laptop) and tools. Perfect combo IMO.)

Disappointing

Eagerly awaited this updated seat pack. Received it, and I'm dumbfounded. The pack itself is three sides with nothing for a bottom but flexible plastic attached by straps. The pack, as opposed to the dry bag insert, is not meant to be totally dry. But with quarter inch gaps all around the bottom, this is going to form quite the grit collection. Maybe you're already thinking that would be the least of your problems were the thin plastic bottom to break. And I think you'd be right. Who wants to be duct taping a $155 seat pack together be ause their bike fell on it's side? That's all it would take and you no longer have a functioning seat pack. I mean... when I read the Terrapin had a plastic bottom, I thought it meant they attached a protector for the bag so it wouldn't rub on the tire. I didn't stop to think they just didn't sew a bottom on the bag and instead hoped some plastic would hold it all together. Even if it does for a while we all know plastic like this becomes brittle over time. If you want an expensive bag that you can replace in a few years or sooner, you'll be happy. If you expect your set up to last longer, keep looking. I didn't want to install a rack, but peace of mind and not throwing money away wins. Love that these packs are made in the USA and hope they do better. This cost-cutting measure was truly absurd.
