New bikes go through a normal break-in period, after which they should be readjusted. All bicycles sold at REI include free adjustments for one year after purchase date—as many times as you need. Included: derailleur and brake adjustments, lateral wheel truing, hub and headset bearing adjustments, tire inflation and chain lubrication. How we measure bikes
- Standover Height Standover Height is a measurement from the ground to the top of the top tube, measured at the midpoint of the top tube.
- Reach Reach is the horizontal distance from the center of the cranks to the center of the head tube, measured at head tube level.
- Stack Stack is the vertical distance from the center of the cranks to the center of the head tube, measured to the top of the head tube.
- Effective Top Tube Effective top tube is the distance from the center of the head tube to the center of the seat tube/seat post, measured parallel to the ground.
- Seat Tube Center to Top Seat Tube length is the measurement of the seat tube, from the center of the cranks to the top of the seat tube.
- Head Tube Length Head Tube Length is measured from the bottom to the top of the head tube.
- Head Tube Angle Head Tube Angle is the acute angle between the head tube and the ground (measured towards the rear of the bike)
- Seat Tube Angle Seat Tube Angle is the acute angle between the seat tube and the ground (measured towards the rear of the bike).
- Bottom Bracket Height Bottom Bracket Height is a measurement taken vertically from the ground up to the center of the cranks.
- Wheelbase Wheelbase is the measurement from the center of the front axle to the center of the rear axle.
- Chainstay Length Chainstay Length is the measurement from the center of the cranks to the center of the rear axle.
- Fork Offset Fork Offset, or rake, is the distance from the front axle to a line drawn parallel to the center of the head tube or steering axis.

amazing bike
I’ve been riding all my life and For the past 10 years I’ve been riding a nice carbon road bike so I wanted to give gravel a try. I purchased this bike to use on gravel and the first bike for road but now I’m thinking about selling my road bike because this bike is perfect for road and off-road. So smooth and stable. So far I did over 60 miles and I enjoyed every mile
Like an SUV
After riding this bike for 6 months, average of 50 miles per week, these are some observations. 1) Cannondale's topstone carbon manufacturer's Customer Support is not bike owner focused/friendly. They will not even provide a general diagram of some of the most basic torque settings (seat height adjustment bolt as an example). They refer to them as "internal company information" 2) On the 105 build the rear derailleur cable projects out a distance that my foot, while peddling, hit the cable ( I have a size 11 shoe). This was remedied by attaching a plastic electrical cable clip with a zip tie to the frame to preposition the cable against the frame seat stay without affecting the cable action. 3) The disc brakes needed realignment periodically due to rubbing of the disc against the brake pads. Remedied by, near the dropouts, loosening the brake mechanism's pair of mounting screws, operate the brake to recenter the pads on the disc, and re tightening the screws. 4) Handles well on rough uneven road surfaces. The shifting is smooth. The gear ratios favor the low end and useful on steep hilly gravel rides. 5) To me the bike is like an all wheel drive suv. Stable and easy to control on rough rocky roads, mossy damp roads, and fall/winter/spring roads full of debris. One can ride through it all and the frame will absorb the shock delivering a smooth feeling ride. I haven't crashed yet like I would have riding my other bikes built for smooth dry roads. 6) Nice looking minimal aesthetic.
Awesome bike
The bike rides great. Super smooth gear shifting and excellent brakes. A huge upgrade from my previous bike. Great on the road as well as off reading as well. A very comfortable ride
Top bike, Top guidance.
Helpful and sincere guidance from several employees in the bike shop (REI, Hanover, NJ) were instrumental with my purchase as I was also researching other bikes in other shops. I like being sold and although they were no way pushy, they were highly instructive and honest with helping me arrive to a decision. The entire bike staff appeared to be cyclists themselves, highly experienced with bike mechanics and eager to share information. Thank you.
Topstone Seat post
You will not receive a seat post binder with your bike so you have no way to hold seat post in place. You need to contact Cannondale to get the part they do not include. It's my fault that I did not see the part in the picture which is a internal part.
