Epic early fail from Shimano

I bought this pedals on May 2023 and I had to return them on September 2023 with less than 300 miles of use do to the fact that the right side pedal started to sip and leak grease from the spindle. They are a good entry pedals to learn to clip in and out and they come with the yellow cleats that give you 6 degrees of float. I gave a rating of 1 star because in a short time grease started to leak out of the right side pedal over time this issue could give major problems on a ride. Also for being a good name brand the quality is not there we’re it needs to be the pedals lasted a short timeframe grease leaking is a sign that the product failed way ahead of its life span.

Conversion build

These pedals are easy to get in and out of. Maybe too easy to get out of. Good beginner road pedals, bought for a budget conversion project.

Clip-In pedals

These pedals are fine. I have been using them for 3 weeks, riding 1-hour per day. Clipping in and out is generally very easy, and the ride is quiet and smooth. One note is that they seem to balance with the clip side down, so getting clipped back in while moving takes some fiddling and concentration. As consumers, we must unite to kill off using the term "clipless pedals" for this type of pedal. These pedals are the kind we most definitively clip INTO. That is the whole point of the technology. The only other kinds of pedals are flat (no clips) and the toe-cage type, which also have no real clip. At most, a cinch strap. Those are basically toe-holster pedals.

Buy these pedals!

These are a great beginner set of pedals. It has been so easy learning to ride in these. After all my research, I have found no scientific evidence that shows the more expensive clip-less pedals are more efficient for riding, so these are probably going to stay on my bike, and future bikes, for a long time. Buy them!

Zero Problems

I've put about 4,000 miles on these in a year. There's nothing wrong with these. I may upgrade just so I can put some Favero power meters into my shimano pedals (might go up to 105 pedals). If I don't get the power meters, I'll just ride these until they fall apart which might be later than I fall apart.

No issues great beginner pedals

Had these for about a month roughly 100 miles on them and so far no problems. These are my first clipless pedals so can’t really compare to others just make you to buy shimano cleats. I already made that mistake of buying another brand and couldn’t get the cleat to clip in. Rookie mistake I guess

Great starter pedals at a reasonable price

I love these pedals. I bought them to use on my indoor stationary spin bike so that I could ride more efficiently, and they are so great! It's been great practice for me to get comfortable with clipless pedals in order to try it out before I put them on my regular bike, too.
