I wanted to like this.
I wanted to like this case. but, it just doesn't keep the battery in the cold. I took it on a couple of hikes, a run and just left it out in the sun on a cold day. The temps were mild for this time of year in upstate NY, but below zero, between 10 and 24 degrees. My battery dropped pretty quickly. I have better battery life if I just keep the phone in my coat chest pocket. I do like the straps for multiple options for keeping the case on your person or pack. I like the extra little stow sleeve inside and the large handles at the top to open the case even with gloves. Good for extra padding, but not much else.
Protects phone, extends battery life
I have used this generally for every day errands. It has a stash pocket inside for an ID and credit cards/cash. The Phoozy has fabric on the back that allows you to hook a carabiner with keys to it, or if you want to attach a purse strap, or strap it to your backpack etc. I noticed it kept my phone cool during these hot summer days. I did take it on a hike and noticed my battery life was extended just a bit. I did drop it a few times and it protected my phone. You can toss this into a bigger bag or use it to carry just the essentials for a quick trip to the store.
Keeps that phone clean
Ever thrown your phone into the brain of your pack only to pull it out with dirt, chalk, and a banana skin squished into every nook and cranny? I feel a lot safer knowing my phone has another layer of protection from the elements. I really liked having the slot for my drivers license and credit card so I didn't worry about items falling out as I dig through my pack. It may offer battery life protection but without a side by side comparison of an un-shielded phone, it is hard to speak to that. The tabs at the top made it easy to open even with gloves on. Overall: If you want the peace of mind knowing your phone is protected, this is the right pouch for you.
Helps when your phone goes for a doozy
An amazing product! For those of us used to sleeping with our phones to keep them warm when camping or who have had phones overheat in a hot car, this is perfect! At the same time, something that keeps your phone floating if it falls into the drink on a water crossing and is padded if it bounces off hard surfaces. Besides the low weight, the construction looks like it will last. Great velcro that extends snugly past the seams and secure grips to get it open in the cold. The inside pocket is great for keeping ID and cards in one place. Will be taking this on my PCT hike and am expecting lots of interest!
It Works!
What more can I say?! It's a $50 coozie for your phone. Ridiculously expensive, but so is my $1,249 iPhone. However, I bought during the 35% off BF sale so that took the sting out a bit. I was a sucker for "NASA" uses the same material line. I have used this 3 times snowboarding this season and on Sunday it was 5 degrees on the summit at Snowbird. Granted, my phone has a brand new battery, but after using my GPS tracker all day my phone was still at around 85 - 90%. Highly recommend if you have an expensive phone and don't want to destroy the battery immediately whilst enjoying the great outdoors.
Works well
Worked well. Make sure you get the right size for your phone - there are two sized Plus and XL. Luckily I got the Plus and it fits my iPhone X perfectly. I took it to the beach a few times this week and I was very happy with it. Put my cards in the pocket, kept the sand out of my phone and never had an inssue with temperature. Well made product for sure. I haven't needed the floatation part of this but I tested it in my bathtub and it definitely floats.
Just what I needed without knowing it!
This is one of those items that you never realized you needed until you have one, and then you can't figure out how you lived without it. Texas summer heat is rough on electronics. Being able to leave my phone in this gizmo while by the pool, working out, or sitting at the beach keeps my phone from overheating or excessively draining its battery. There's a nice pocket inside to keep a card and ID too. This is much safer than leaving my phone out, in my bag or hoping it stays dry in my cooler. The fit is really good too!
A good idea but whats the point.
This product does exactly what it says it does. But in the end, the product isn't all that useful. A disclaimer, I have not used it in cold weather. I used this product a number of times in hot weather while out on a boat, as well as paddleboarding. It kept the phone cooler than if it was out in direct sunlight and didn't muffle the sound of the phone too much. It doesn't claim to be waterproof but it still kept a generous amount of water out even though it got splashed consistently. In the past I have had phones die while out in cold temperatures and maybe this would help with that but overall it's bulky and it's not easy to get your phone in and out.
Impressed with minimal drop in battery
I used this pouch outside for 2 hours in 39-42 degree (real feel with wind) weather, in a mix of sun, clouds, and light snow flurries. My phone battery only dropped 6% in this time. I have a Samsung S8, and it fits comfortably in the pouch, even with a light case. The pouch velcros securely (I was sceptical of the velcro at first), and the rubber tabs at the top are great to open when your hands are cold. I'm looking forward to using this case more, especially in much higher and lower temps.
Keeps things dry and organized
The phoozy is great for outdoor activities where you have a backpack or large pockets. I've used it snowboarding and although my coat was damp, everything in the phoozy was dry. The phoozy has two compartments, I put my phone in one and cards/cash in the other. At first I was worried that the cards would fall to the bottom and be hard to reach. However, they stayed near the top and didn't cause any issues.
