winter riding is pleasant finally

I got these to make daily winter riding easier on my electric cargo bike. I was worried they might not work with my bar end mirror, but they do! I was also worried that they wouldn't work with my 41 degree sweep handlebars. They do, but I wouldn't go any more sweep than that. These don't come with the foam donuts for the cables like their insulated siblings (Cobrafist), so some air does get in. An easy fix for this was to stick an old wool sock inside and weave it between the cables; you don't notice the socks when you're riding and no air gets in. If you want the ventilation, obviously don't use my hack. I wanted the wind proofing awesomeness of pogies without the extra insulation and bulkiness. These fit the bill perfectly. They stay open when I need to signal or mess with my phone, and I can pivot them up and down when I need to without them sliding sideways. Overall I'm incredibly satisified with them. It was below freezing yesterday and I rode with bare hands in these going 20 mph at times over a span of 30 miles and I was cozy warm. If I started to sweat I just took my hand out for a few seconds to dump the heat. They have a soft fleece lining on the inside. Way better than wearing gloves!! I really don't think you can go wrong with these, though I don't know how they'd do with drop bars; my guess is not great. I'm only docking one star because of the lack of foam donuts (air getting in) but that's an easy fix.
