May ’26 comparing Eno Lounger with Nemo Satellite
Debating between this Eno Lounger DL and the Nemo Satellite chair. I’ll prob go with the Satellite, but the Eno seems like an excellent chair, excellent quality, and I love the dark purple eggplant color. The Eno is larger with a larger seat and really wins out having armrest support, much more comfortable on the arms. It’s also only 3/4 of the price of the Nemo. For airplanes or backpacking, I would leave the triangle backpack at home, which brings the chair’s weight down to 4 lb 12 oz, which is only 10 oz more than the Nemo with its pack (which is a much more useful pack so would take with us). The Eno material is more robust. So why would I choose the Satellite over it? Satellite weighs 10 oz less, has a lifetime warranty (instead of Eno’s 2 years); and also for me the Eno chair keeps my spine in a rounded curve forward, like in a hammock, but I can’t move my body around to stretch it out, and I can’t imagine being comfortable in a curved forward spine like that for hours. I do love hammocks! but often change position in them, and can’t do that in this chair. Vs. the Nemo has a little adjustment up and down so I can get my spine into a more neutral position. Btw, neither chair actually reclines backwards. They’re both in a semi reclined leaned back position and don’t go back further, though the Nemo can come forward more upright a little as well. Unfortunate that the Satellite armrests are only straps, in comparison to Eno’s. If it weren’t for the spine alignment, I’m sure I would have overall preferred the Eno. Both look like high quality chairs. Both are very easy to put together, I didn’t even need to read instructions, both of them equally easy and under a minute to assemble. Note: I’m 5’6” 185 lb , and both chairs fit, the Eno esp with plenty of room for someone larger than me.
Original was better but new version sets up faster
I bought two lounger DLs and two lounger SLs back in 2021. That version is no longer available and I wouldn't buy this new version but only because it no longer packs as small. I need chairs without small metal parts that corrode in salt water, pack small, can sling multiples on one person, are comfy enough for a nap, and are durable to last a long time. The originals did all of this extremely well, but the new version doesn't pack as small and can't easily carry multiple. The new configuration shortens the setup/takedown time, which is what my children constantly complain about. Yes, the originals are complicated to setup and pack but only when compared to a standard lawn chair. These are chairs for beach and camping trips, not for little league sidelines or tailgating. Longer setup and packing is a trade-off for both small and durable.
Perfect Seat
Have used on sand, round rocks and sharp rocks, dirt, hardwood floor, and carpet. Works on everything. Very comfortable—can easily sit in for hours. Side pockets hold a lot. Drink caddy can handle up to a 32 oz Nalgene. Easy to set up and break down. Backpack bag is great. Would not recommend for backpacking but great for everything else.
Great chair, but
This was my favorite chair. Unfortunately, due to it being very lightweight, it blew over into the fire and burnt to a crisp!
