Pleasant Words Are A Honeycomb.

Pleasant words, pleasant words. Well, they look amazing. The inside feels great, cozy, snug even. I loved the wrist lanyards that keep your gloves attached if you decide to take them off. I bought these for anytime I would need them but mostly for riding to and from work in Colorado's sometimes cold climate. It wasn't super cold yesterday morning, maybe 30ºF or lower, coupled with riding my bike and factoring in windchill maybe a bit colder. My fingers stayed fairly warm, no real problems but in the 5 miles that it takes me to get to work and the fact that these gloves are 170 dollars if not on sale, my thumbs should not have gotten increasingly colder as they did which made me think, "What if I had been on a 2 hour ride in them?" "How would my thumbs have faired?" So with that I would say it's a beautiful glove but with words of encouragement I feel like we could do better.

Not Warm

I purchased these gloves at the beginning of the season. I was hesitant because of the price point. I was assured by the sales associate that they would stay warm and waterproof as long as I treated them with the leather balm. The glove start our warm but once they start to get some perspiration in them they wet the liner and the leather. Then you are done because once they’re wet, there’s no fixing it. Your hands start to freeze. These are by far the worst gloves I have ever owned. I only wish I had purchased them at REI so I could return them and get my money back. Hestra gloves may have been good when they were made in Sweden. They are only selling off their legacy name, the product is junk.

Warm High Quality Glove

I am simply baffled by the reviews saying these gloves are not warm. I wear these to ski in the U.P. of Michigan where it is typically 0-20 degrees. I bought these because I was looking for a mitt that would be an upgryin warmth over the gloves I had been wearing and they 100% fit that bill. My hands get hot enough that I'm taking them off on the lift ride back up. These are fantastic gloves that are worth every penny.

Not durable, low quality mittens

These gloves started ripping on the first day I wore them. I sent them to Hestra for warranty and was sent them back without explanation of why they weren’t covered. Don’t waste your time or money on these mittens. I’ll be returning them under the REI return policy.

My favorite gloves

My hands are notoriously cold and I was always having to use hand warmers and liners even on warmer days. These are the first set of mittens I don’t even have to wear liners in - my hands actually warm up when I put them back in! Not everyone loves the finger sleeves inside of the mittens but I personally like having them since they feel closer to liners on the inside. I personally prefer the full leather gloves as I think they are warmer than others I’ve tried.

HESTRA SHOULD BE ASHAMED

When you buy a mitten from Hestra (especially at this price), you expect them to keep your hands warm. These DO NOT. Very suitable for the beach. Mittens are for WARMTH. These were completely unsatisfactory and will be returned. Do not buy these if you want your hands to stay warm during skiing.

NOT Warm

I love the look, fit and feel, but they are NOT warm. Even with liners, you stand an almost definite chance of having cold hands. Super bummed

Price inverse to performance.

I purchased a pair of these to get gear for a Heli ski trip becuase United Airlines lost my luggage and all of my gear. Bought them in Banff, Alberta Canada. The entire city did not sell my glove of preference; Swany gloves. These are all I could find. I would not recommend this glove or this glove maker. My wrists were cold, there is no handwarmer insert and I felt like a boxer. I would steer clear of this brand but recommend Swany and Black Diamond.

Excellent choice, worth the investment

Warm, comfortable...individual finger wraps inside of the mitten, performs and looks great on the mountain. Stays very dry inside for multi day use.
