Comfortably soft and stylish
Fabric is warm and soft which offers a full range of motion. I like that the material isn’t stiff or bulky like most snow jackets and the synthetic stuffings really felt like down. It is a very comfortable and fashionable jacket. I will be using this daily to combat the cold weather during my everyday commutes and whereabouts than on the slopes. I really like all the pockets and there’s a microfiber cloth included for your ski goggles on the inside. I was able to fit my iPad mini into that pocket. The fleece lining inside the hand pockets kept my hands warm and toasty. Sizes seem to run a little small. I’m usually a size 6 but I got a size 10 and it fits nicely snug with some thin layers on. For references, I’m 5’1, 34C, and 125lbs. I usually have a hard time finding a jacket that’s not too long and the length of this was perfect. I think they even have petite sizes on other websites. I’ve yet to try it out in Seattle this November and camping in Death Valley with temps going down to the 20s but I’ve enjoyed how fashionable and comfortable this jacket is. I can probably sleep in it too! I got this for $180.99 with rei’s 30% off sale.

Too Small
I'm a size 6. This coat is too small. Wish I could have known more about "TRUE" fit as all your stores are closed and I have no way to even exchange this coat before your stores open again. Who knows when that will be. I got a coat I cannot use that will be out of stock by the time we see an REI open to the public again. Your return policy sucks REI. I even offered to drop this coat off at your Sumner returns. Live chat said no after making me wait for 15 minutes to get to someone. In the Amazon world- how do you have no proper return policy? You're an ONLINE store for goodness sake. You won't even allow me to return this online?? I have to go into your store.... That's closed.

Kept me warm on the slopes

I really love this jacket. I wear it on cold MI days and recently wore it for a ski trip. It’s equally good for skiing and for playing in the snow with my daughter. I did add a fleece underneath for extra warmth since it was on the windier side but I stayed warm all afternoon. The inner sleeves are great but we’re hard to get my ski gloves on over, so I put my gloves on first and then the jacket and that was much better. I found the jacket light enough that it was easy to move around in and for me, it didn’t ride up like many other jackets have on me. As others have said it runs a bit small, I’m 5’3, 135lb and 34B bust, pear shape, and the 10 is perfect with room for layers. It’s not bulky and doesn’t look oversized on.

Bought to stay warm in Norway

This jacket kept me warm in Norway in 20 degree Fahrenheit weather on my trip to see the northern lights. It has great pockets the one on the arm was a life saver for storing quick access items like my bus pass. The fabric is nice and it feels soft and comfy but doesn’t sacrifice its functionality. You can choose to layer underneath for maximum warmth or just have a tank top and still wear in warmer weather without overheating. I was very happy with this purchase. The only thing I can think of to say negative is that the arm mobility was slightly restrictive across the back if you were to for example, give yourself a hug.

Warm and comfortable

This jacket is warm, stylish and comfortable however I had to go two sizes up to find the right fit. The arms were tight. I am 5'6" and 128 lbs. and usually wear a size 6. I bought a size 10 which fits perfectly, including in the arms. The length covers to just below my hips The jacket is well insulated, warm and would be good for down hill skiing or cold weather activities. It does not have underarm vents. I am very happy with this jacket and gave it a 4 star only because the sizes were off.

Really good, needs some feature enhancements.

I was concerned this jacket would be too small from other reviews, but i ordered according to the size chart and it fits well. (I 5'4" 110 and wear a 00 in suit jackets but ordered the 2. I do have a small bust and narrower shoulders.) The length is perfect for me. Pros: -awesome powder skirt with solid snaps, feels snug and secure -interior goggle cloth pocket with clip -elastic drawstring at bottom hem is well made Cons: -no pit zips/vents, i can see this jacket getting pretty hot -hood is shallow, it won't protect the sides of your face and doesn't really want to stay up -no thumb holes on inner cuff, not a deal breaker but would be nice

Best Jacket Ever

I run very cold and this jacket keeps me very warm. I bought it to wear for a day of sporting clay shooting and it kept me warm outdoors when it was 15 degrees. The fabric is of good quality and has a nice matte finish. The fit is excellent. I am 5'2" small on top with a low center of gravity and size 4 fits perfectly. The hood fits my head snugly and the faux fur is a bonus. It has many useful pockets. And the sale price is phenomenal.

I love this coat!

I went to the local store to buy a coat. Tried this one on in my normal size and it fit a bit snug. Went home and read reviews. A lot of people said that you should buy the coat two sizes bigger than normal because it fits small. I ordered one online two sizes bigger, and it fits great. It is big enough to wear layers, but doesn't make me look bigger. I love the big hand pockets. They are so warm and soft. The coat is so warm and cozy and the sage color is great. Some reviews said there were too many pockets. I could use more zippered pockets. What is the arm zipper pocket for? I never use it. The only thing I don't like so much is the hood. It seems a little large and is always in my face even with it cinched up. Overall, I would highly recommend this coat.

North Face Girl No More!

I received this jacket as a Christmas present from my boyfriend. I was pleasantly surprised how quickly I fell in love with this jacket! My last winter jacket was The North Face Artic Down II jacket, and I loved it so much! It was like wearing a down comforter outside! However, I recently lost a bunch of weight (over 100 lbs) and now that jacket just looks ridiculously huge. I was thinking about getting a couple different jackets, looking in to a Michael Kors one specifically, but waited on getting it because my BF said, don't waste the money, we aren't in full bore winter just yet (little did I know, he already got me this jacket). I am 5'9", 165lbs. I wear size 5-7 jeans (depending on brand) and normally size Medium shirts, 36C bust. I am not sure what sizing method they are using though. He got me a size 10 for this jacket and it fits perfectly! But my dress size is size 5-6ish so its not going by that measurement?? This jacket is really soft material on the inside. Right now I am wearing a short sleeved shirt underneath and it feels nice and dry against my bare arms! (sometimes with jackets like this, you feel sticky and the material doesn't breathe well). Its also not a crazy noisy jacket either. Sometimes winter jackets can be so noisy moving around. But I work in a really quiet (but cold) office and I'm wearing my jacket now without feel self conscious of it being too disruptively noisy. The little inner sleeves are nice as well! They are stretchy and can stretch up over your hands if you want, so they can help insulate your hands a little, without needing gloves. I am staying nice and toasty, without overheating or getting sweaty! This material seems to be exceptionally breathable, but windproof and waterproof! The hood is removable if you want to use this jacket sans hood too! The pockets are sleek and not terribly noticeable either, so this jacket stays form fitting and stylish without the appearance of bulky storage, but there are a lot of pockets for this thing - which I love because I always carry so much stuff with me. All in all, I was always a basic B, and was all about my North Face jackets. But after wearing this for really only a day - I am sold, and if you buy it you will too!

Excellent jacket

This is a fantastic jacket that is both comfortable and functional while being stylish. It hasn’t snowed since I bought it but it has been great in chilly and drizzling weather and helped me get outside every day with my daughter who loves the outdoors.
