Happy with my decision
I waffled between getting these or the track pants since they both seemed pretty similar. Ultimately, I went with these since the inseam's a bit longer (31" versus 29") and would be more versatile across weather conditions (since they're rain and wind resistant). So far I'm really happy with the decision to prioritize versatility over the warmer track pants. They worked great on a windy and drizzly run yesterday. One thing to note, I was initially confused when the side pocket only opened halfway. Thought maybe it was a dedicated gel-sized pocket. However, I later realized it opens further. You just have to use a little force getting it past one of the seams. (See picture for where it originally got stuck.)
Comfortable but easy to stain
These pants are quite comfortable and perfect to wear to the gym, outside on a cool day, or for a day of travel. However, after only a couple of months of light wear, they are almost unusable due to the ease at which they stain. Through regular use, they have somehow picked up smudges and oils, most through unnoticed or innocuous actions, that I have been unable to remove through a variety of methods. They look kind of bad now because of this stain attraction.
Inseam too short
REI lists the inseam on these pants as 31", but the Janji size chart (and the actual pants) lists 28.5". I'm usually a 34x34 "athletic" fit in men's pants, so I ordered the XL in these for some extra room. They fit great in the waist/hips, but the legs are uncomfortably short, and end up strapped around my calves if I walk up a flight of stairs. The pockets are a tad shallow to hold a phone without zipping, but that's not a huge deal. Love the material, but just wish they came in a "tall" version with an actual 31" inseam.
The pants
These are the best pants for running, hiking, and general exercise use I’ve found. Fit is great. Love the pocket placement—the one on the side fits my phone perfectly. I’ve worn these on long runs in 70 degree weather and have never felt like I was overheating. They are also really durable. I was once handling a razor blade that slipped slightly and pushed into the fabric without making any mark whatsoever—I thought I was about to faint since I had just bought them but was thrilled instead. The only thing I’ve noticed is the elastic in the heel has pulled slightly on the seams from when I used to actually wear them over the heal so the fabric bunches a little more than it used to in the back but is basically unnoticeable (to others and myself).
Good pants, too high of price
The pants are made of quality materials that are built well plus they move and feel great as any light weight joggers should; however, all that plus the mediocre design doesn't equal the current price. The draw cord is too elastic to be useful, the front pockets are too shallow to keep things secured all the time and the side pockets are nice but only big enough for a small wallet or set of keys. The problem is, you can find similar quality and better designed pants from other companies. I'm not made I bought them, I'm disappointed the non-sale price was so expensive.
So comfortable!
Light and stretchy material, tapers down to the perfect fit at ankles, not too tight on the calves. Super comfortable for running, kneeling and squatting, or even lounging around in. The ankle opening is small with a little stretch—need to put these on without shoes. The zippered pockets are great—not huge, big enough for a large phone and keeps the hip profile sleek. The only downside is the drawstring is elastic, which makes it difficult to get it tight around the waist. These are my favorite everything pants!
Great, except..
I do really like these pants, hey look slick and are wildly comfortable. I was planning to make them part of my running attire but here’s the catch, the waistband drawstring is elastic to the point of being basically useless. If I have a phone in my pocket and keys on the key loop I feel the pants starting to fall off in less than a block of running. Be warned if you have skinny hips like me- I’m planning to replace the drawstring with a shoelace.
THE BEST TRAVEL PANTS
These pants are the absolute BEST! I've been looking for stylish jogger-esque pants for traveling for FOREVER! Especially some with zippered pockets so my passport/ wallet/ phone don't fall out. But I also want to be comfortable on a long flight, especially international. These are incredible! Super lightweight and extremely versatile. I've owned the shorts version of these for a couple years but there are times you don't want to wear shorts. I got these in the Obsidian color but I might buy all other colors... 6/5 STARS!
Love these for every activity
I love these pants because I can wear them for Every. Single. Thing. Running? Check! Tennis? Check (and each pocket is generous enough to hold 4 tennis balls!)! Yoga? Check! Hiking? Check! I have them in 3 colors. If there were more colors, I would own those too. A few notes: the black and blue colors fit me perfectly (I’m 5’5” female, 150 lbs, wearing a Medium. I like my clothes a bit loose.). But the alpine color, which I bought a year after the others, is too large for me. I assume a different vendor? On all, the fabric is thin to the touch but durable and has a perfect level of stretch, making all forms of exercise (and yoga contortions) possible. I could even get away with wearing these out and about to non-exercise locations. Terrific pants all around.
Great Pant
Comfortable without any baggy or binding areas. Lightweight yet surprisingly warm and breathable. Fit is NOT tight ( second skin ) nor too loose and sloppy ( sweatpants ). If being nit picky, the drawstring is a bit too stretchy, but find I don't really need it.
