Icebreaker  200 Oasis Crewe Base Layer Top - Men's

I have been searching for years to find a moisture wicking undershirt which is made of non-toxic materials, ie, not polyester or some plastic derived fabric which leaches micro plastics and other toxins into the wearer, for my job in fire/ems. This undershirt is a bit pricey but so far it’s help up pretty well, I’ve made sure to only air dry it, and it does a good job of moisture wicking. It’s not a miracle product but it does better than the issued cotton undershirt I was using before. That’s pretty much all there is to it. The fit is good, runs normal to small, especially if you have a broad muscular build.

I wanted to like this, but after 5 or so washes small holes started appearing throughout the shirt. After another few washes later I'm up to about 15 small lentil sized holes that render the shirt completely unwearable in public. It is now relegated to summer sleepwear. For $90 I find that unacceptable. I have shirts costing half as much, albeit not merino, that have held up far better than this: 50+ washes with only modest wear and maybe 1-3 pinprick sized holes. And I only wore it hiking 2-3 times. The rest of the uses were gorpcore to be honest. It's not like I bushwacked or wrestled a briar patch.

Icebreaker should be embarrassed. The product used to have a proper torso length, but now they’ve chopped off nearly two full inches. It’s noticeably shorter, rides up constantly, and feels like a cheap knockoff of its former self. What makes it worse is that they’re charging more for a product that’s clearly been downgraded. This isn’t “updated design” — it’s cost‑cutting at the customer’s expense. You’re already at a premium cost; we notice you cutting the costs and increasing pricing. Great shirt! I chose small by the sizing chart, it's a little snug in the chest and somewhat 'revealing' (for a guy) but that is okay, I mostly wear this underneath all my other layers so the snug fit really helps trap heat and wick moisture quickly. High quality stitching.

Great alone for sunny days with just a bit of chill in the air or as a wonderful baselayer option when you do not want layers of sleeves. It makes for a great first layer under dress shirts as well for when the weather changes on you. I love how it is thicker than an every day t-shirt but not as bulky as a full sleeved baselayer. I will be picking up more of these for sure.

This is a good quality shirt. Just wish there had been more colors available. I would have gotten my hubby more of them.

Big fan of the Icebreaker 150 merino T-shirt. I have several: great fit, durable with no stretching or tearing with proper laundering and drying over 1 year of regular use in all seasons. Decided to try the 200 during the winter for a slightly thicker and warmer winter base layer. Result? Disappointing. Material and stitching are solid and I have no doubts that the shirt will perform as my other 150 shirts. But the fit of the 200 is totally different from the 150. The top seam of the 150 is where you’d expect it to be on any T-shirt. In contrast, the top seam of the 200 is more toward the front deltoids and collarbone. Led to a very uncomfortable fit. This might work for you, and I’ll keep mine because it’s a good quality shirt and these shirts are too expensive to throw away. But if you really like the fit of the Icebreaker 150, think twice or do an in store fit test before buying the 200. The 200 is a totally different product

This is my second merino Icebreaker T. The weight is nice for fall and cooler temperatures, it looks good and as advertised you can wear it for several days without any apparent odor. I wore one in Rome for 4 days,including 2 - 9 hour flights, and this one in Chicago for 3 days. No complaints from the family.

It has all the benefits of a wool garment. But this one developed two small holes after only a few washes. Whereas I’ve washed my Smartwool equivalents multiple times with no problems.
