Wonderful but 🥶 COLD
I bought this directly from the retailer store in the stratus color, which was an excellent deal. The fit was amazing so I was sold on it second I tried it on. The next day I wore it on the slopes and it wasn’t too cold of a day maybe in the low to mid 30s but snowy with light to moderate winds. I wore a base layer long sleeve merino wool top with a fleece mid layer and then the Sentinel shell jacket. Brrrrrr…it was COLD!!!! I was shaking when I got down to the base of the mountain!!! I really felt the bone chilling cold like I have never felt it before with regular insulated jackets. I think you’re going to have to wear a hefty mid layer perhaps something with prima loft or some type of a hybrid puffer breathable tech jacket under this shell because this outer jacket did not block the cold, even with 2 layers beneath it!
Is the new GORE-Tex ePE fabric really durable?
I question the durability of the new fabric used in the Sentinel jacket. I got a small tear in mine in less than a month , skied 4 times & no idea how it happened. No wipe outs. I was not able to return my jacket for an exchange , but the company did patch the tear in the front of my jacket. I was disappointed they don’t offer color swatches in matching fabric for the repairs . The product is advertised as “Durable , lightweight GORE-TEX ePE fabric that has an 80D face fabric for enhanced durability without added weight”. I have no tears in my 10 year old very used sentinel ski pants. Positive note: The fit of the jacket & pants are great , and I stayed dry on wet snowy days.
Logo is terrible and cheap
Love the colors but the size difference between the large and XL is so big. I’m in between sadly. But also the logos on all the sentinels look terrible and cheap
Great snow sport jacket
This jacket kept me completely dry throughout the day, even in icy and wet conditions. The jacket’s Gore-Tex fabric provided excellent waterproofing, and the breathable design ensured I didn’t overheat during runs. It has features like the adjustable hood and pit zips for ventilation which made it even more versatile but I didn’t have the need to use it. I felt comfortable, warm, and completely protected from the elements. The powder skirt ensured that snow wouldn’t go up my jacket and not worry about getting soaked.
TRUE TO SIZE
TRUE TO SIZE! I read multiple reviews, watched videos and overanalyzed what size to get for multiple days. I am 5'10, 150lbs, athletic build with broad shoulders and long arms. I originally ordered a Medium, after reading it runs large. I should have ordered a Large, as it was tight in the armpits, especially with multiple layers. Highly recommend getting your true size, if not sizing up a little.
Third Sentinel Kind of a Charm
The Alpine Rose color captured my heart to add to my ski wear collection. I again provide my feedback that a softer collar, a wider waist and a bit shorter of a jacket would fit the under 5’3” buyer better. The zippers under the arms are a bit high on this model compared to the 2 others I’ve purchased over the past 15 years.
Great jacket
I really like all the details for the ski in this jacket. Also the cut is great, just long enough and the right amount of room to layer regarding the temperature. The hood fits over the helmet for really windy days. And the colour is sooo nice !
Yes, but need more pockets
I was so excited to get the new jacket - but what is going on with the pockets on this model? There seems to be a notable shortage. Where do you even put your phone?
Great jacket
U have worn arcteryx jackets for 20 years. Great protection in any weather. Keeps you in the mountain. Color choices have been less than exciting for several years
Great fit, better adapted for backcountry skiing
I love it. Right size, longer thab my beta and more space in a medium to wear my cerium. The hoodie is also better adapted to my helmet. Great buy so far!
