Comfortable
I wear a size 7 and bought them in my size. This pair runs true to size for me. Very lightweight compared to my old boots! I can't say how warm they'll keep my feet until the weather turns super cold but from visual examination they look like they'll get the job done. I think the laces should be longer. I can foresee an issue with stuffing my pant kegs in and not being able to tie the boots as the laces are shorter than I'd like. But I can solve that problem by just purchasing different laces! My old boots had super long laces and I hated them. These have the opposite problem of being too short. Other than that I'm very satisfied with my purchase and would recommend them.
Ripped the skin of my ankles to shreds
I really wanted to love these boots, I was looking for something warm to walk my dog in the mornings before work and these had good temperature ratings for what I was looking for and seemed to be generally well reviewed. I walked in these for less than 20 minutes before it became too painful to continue wearing them. The back sewn piece above the heel kept bending at the stitching and cutting into the back of my ankles. Both of my ankles were shredded by the time I made it home. I have larger calves, so maybe that gave me an experience not everyone has, but I will be swiftly returning these.
love these!
I just moved to Chicago from NC, so I needed a pair of warm winter boots, mainly for walking my dog. These were the only pair I tried on and they fit perfectly! I didn’t even try anything else on or any other size. I normally wear anywhere from an 8.5-9.5 in boots, but the 8’s fit me perfectly with room for a good thick pair of socks (although I don’t think I will need them because the boots are so warm)! I didn’t even need to try on the 9’s. My main decision to purchase was based on how easily I could slip them on and off. *It’s October, so I haven’t used them yet. I will try to submit another review after using them throughout the winter!
Comfortable after fixing the rubber/leather issue
I bought these boots for a trip to Finland. While the boots did their job, I had to doctor up the heel on the left boot with heel pads and corn cushions to smooth out the hard, rough bump where the seams met. Didn't notice the problem until the day I left when I put my boots on for travel. (Of course) The boots had great traction and with several insoles for cushioning were warm and (with heel modification) comfortable. I ended up returning them. I'd absolutely buy an improved version of these because they were the right height for me and they never pushed back onto my shins.
Faulty manufacturing
After wearing these boots for a few hours, the rubber at the heel stitching poked forward and started hurting my Achilles. After returning that pair, the same thing happened when I tried on the replacement boots. I would never trust these on a hike until they figure out why the rubber sometimes pops forward to scrape ankles. If this issue gets fixed, I would love to have a pair of these because they were super comfortable otherwise!
Warm, comfortable, light
I got these boots because I wanted something that would keep me warm, keep snow out of my shoes, and be light enough to do some dog walks comfortably. These fit the bill perfectly! I've been impressed with their warmth and how comfortable they were (I knew they were the right boots for me the second I put them on).
Dry and warm
The pros- these boots are absolutely waterproof. I’ve walked several miles in the Washington wet heavy snow. They’re true to size, in fact roomy enough for thick socks. One of my favorite features is how the laces stay out when I pull them tight around my ankles then move up to the next loops. No cankers! The cons- the foot bed isn’t very cushy. I bought some inserts. My toes get cold in the snow unless I wear wool socks. After two easy fixes I love these boots.
Returned after one wear - cuts into you ankle
These boots are warm, stylish and priced well. But there is a back piece that doesn't bend with the boot and completely cuts into my ankle. I ignored it when trying them on and after a fully day of use my ankles were destroyed. If you wore three pairs of socks to pad your ankle maybe it would help. I am returning.
warm feet at last!
I bought these boots last winter and wore them snowshoeing several times. They kept my usually cold feet toasty warm when snowshoeing for hours in 20 degree temps, even when sitting on the snow to eat lunch. I very rarely feel warm during the winter so these boots were a delight! They’re roomy for hiking or other winter socks and comfortable to walk in. I usually wear size 10 in shoes and 10.5 in hiking boots. These boots in size 10 fit me well.
Warm, waterproof, light and comfortable
I live in the city and walk everywhere. So, when I heard that we were going to get a big snowstorm yesterday, I decided to visit my local REI and grab some snow boots for the storm. I am so glad that I did! These boots are amazing. I am surprised at how warm they are for being so light. I found that they run big. I usually wear a 9 in street shoes, but I needed an 8 in these. Absolutely worth the money.
