I bought this boot nov 18 and have used it for winter hikes and shoveling driveway. I used with microspikes in snowy conditions with microspikes in the white mountains . No problems with cold or wetness. Today I hiked in severe rain and noticed after an hour water was weeping in rh boot. I was really bummed, i thought I found the perfect boot. After I got home I noticed water must have seeped in along front side of boots where I assume upper and lower sections attach. This must be a workmanship issue becauseleft boot was bone dry. I would have given a 5 star yesterday
We are sorry to hear that your boots are not performing as expected. The Coldspark boots do have a full waterproof liner on the inside, to keep water out. We do offer a one year warranty on our Vasque boots. We suggest taking these back to the original retailer for a warranty evaluation. If they are not willing to assist, please reach out to us directly at, customer.service@vasque.com.
Very warm boots. But they are a very narrow boot. Ordered one pair and they were so narrow that they hurt my feet and even though I ordered a half size larger they were so narrow that my toes were pushed into the toe of the boot. Returned those and ordered in a “wide” direct from Vasque. These were even tighter than the 1st pair...what the heck is the deal there. Unless you have very narrow feet look elsewhere.
Bought the boot for winter hiking and snowshoeing. They have little ability keeping my feet warm even staying on snowshoes and out of the snow. They are no watertight and somehow make noise as the shoe bends and twist. I would not recommend.
I bought these after seeing they were recommended by the Vasque Ambassadors, Charlie Gage and Bruce Kirby, and I love the boots. Let me qualify this by saying I'm no outdoorsman; I wear these boots for everyday use including 3-mile walks in the frequently icy/slushy Chicago Winter evenings. They required no break-in period and were extremely comfortable right away (much more comfortable than my Salomon's). They're light weight with good traction in the snow and slush. I have not immersed them completely, but last Winter they kept my feet dry. They keep my feet warm as long as I'm moving and the temperature is above 0-10 degrees. However, during the polar vortex, it's time for the clunky Sorel's and the walks aren't fun.
Thank you for your stellar review! I am glad to hear your boots continue to bring lasting comfortability, and they work well for your day to day. We hope to continue to serve you.
Love these!! Very light, good-looking and comfortable shoe! Looks good with dress pants or jeans. I’m on my feet all day long. Best purchase ever made! The shoes keep my feet warm and the rain and snow out! Did have to go up a size.
Really enjoyed these boots. Did a 4 mile snow hike and they held up wonderfully. I would need to put them through a more rigorous/snowy hike to test the waterproof-ness. Other reviews state they run small, which is accurate. I am normally a Size 9. I bought 9.5 and they fit great. They have a little metal D-ring above your toes to hook your gators to. Would definitely recommend these.
I have put over 1,000 miles of winter walking and hiking on my Coldsparks. I wear them 5 days a week walking to work during the 6 months of winter here in Montana. They are my go-to boot for winter hikes as well. They were comfortable out of the box and still provide great support and traction several years later. They are plenty warm and keep my feet dry in rain and snow. I highly recommend this boot for anyone looking to put some miles on in the winter. I plan to replace mine with a new pair before next winter.
Thank you for your review! We are glad to hear that your boots are working well for you. We hope to continue to serve you in the future!
I have had these about 4 months. They run wide. They have a lot of ankle support (maybe too much), insulation is pretty good, and lightweight. But, the biggest issue was the claim "waterproof", they are not. I recently stepped in a puddle for the first time and once it reached the mesh my foot was wet. I am so disappointed. I have had a couple of pairs of Breeze style and never had this. For the money, definite let down. I would not buy them. In fact this left me doubtful to purchase Vasque boots again.

I really love these boots as they are very light for a winter boot. I frame houses in the Mountains of Montana so we need serious winter boots. these boots let you do way more work due to their low weight. That said they lasted two winters of torture. I just ordered another pair. Cold feet comes from the foot's perspiration freezing, so these boots seem to vent foot moisture out very well. They worked for me down to above ten degrees, with doubling the merino wool socks.
Great boot and very comfortable. A little narrow for a wide, but after a day of hard use they packed out pretty well. I work out doors in the high Rockies of CO and warm dry feet are a real luxury that makes the days a lot easier to plug through. 10 hour days, no problem. Love these boots. My only complaint is that the way the tongue folds causes some pain on my ankles, but that's more a this type of boot issue than a this boot issue. Otherwise, highly recommend!
