amazing in the mountains
I bought these two days (way too close) before hiking 4km up a mountain in Canada. I was obviously stressed about blisters, insulation and if they're truly waterproof. First day we hiked for 6 hours and the second day 4 hours and spent the night on top of the mountain. - The day before I went ATV'ing and I got so much water in my right boot but they were still warm to walk the next day - Great ankle support, the laces won't come loose on their own - They look amazing, I got so many compliments COMPLIMENTS - These boots had AMAZING grip I probably slipped once (at times we were climbing using both hands and feet, that's how steep it got)
Go Elsewhere for Reliability
I bought these recently for a trip to Europe as my main boot to explore al day in- no matter the weather. I have previously purchased Kodiak boots, I wore my waterproof leather pair right through the soles and loved them dearly. On the first day of our trip as I went to put these on, the boot eyelet popped right off while I was lacing them up. I'm incredibly disappointed in the craftsmanship. Especially considering the price tag of these. Think twice before buying if you need a reliable boot, these eyelets look cute but can't be trusted.
Great Everyday Boots
Love these boots. Was looking for something other than "fashionista" boots that could handle cold, wintery WI winters whether I'm running errands or going out with friends at the local brewery. These fit the bill. They look great (much more polished than standard hiking boots), are so well-made and the color (Turkish Coffee Whirlpool) is quite fetching. No scuffs or marks yet, but haven't worn them tons. They look great with leggings or jeans and I think would look nice with tights and casual dresses. The BIG bonus: they are insulated and waterproof, so really can wear them anytime I need to be out and about and not worry my toes are wet or freezing. Plenty of room (I have small, but somewhat wide feet with a high arch and high instep) and my regular size 6 is what I ordered and fits GREAT. Feels good on my heel (have had past issues with plantar fasciitis), no no reason to wear an insert. These are a clear winner!
Very nice boots
I haven’t tested these out and about yet, but right out of the box, I’m impressed. I am usually between 7.5 and 8, and I ordered the 8s. They seem to fit perfectly. These remind me of the sturdy work boots my dad used to wear, but they’re cute also. I’m wondering how they would do on a long hike, but I know that’s not what they were necessarily made for. I see these as great for the following activities: winter boots with jeans, work boots (maybe on a farm or whatever), short winter hikes (maybe even LONG ones, but I can’t say for sure they would be comfortable enough as I haven’t tested), and cooler weather with capris or even shorts (why would you wear shorts in cool weather??)
Crazy comfy
I work at a stand up desk 10 hours a day and since wearing these shoes I've had no more foot pain. They're super comfy and warm and look really cool. I also walk on a short, sometimes muddy trail around the office and they haven't gotten scuffed or lost any shine.
Great everyday boot for an active lifestyle
I read that these boots were for "weekend warriors," which turned me off, but is actually pretty accurate for what I was looking for. I wanted a stylish, vintage looking, well made boot that I could wear daily and on hikes. I tend to keep my shoes for a long time and I do not own many pairs of boots, so I wanted these to be my "everything" boot. I wear a size 5.5, but always buy a 6 in boots and trainers. These boots have a long toe area, which gave the illusion of being too big at first (only in length of toe area). I loved them so much, I was determined to make them work. In feeling the insole, you can tell they were designed to have a long toe area, which made me feel better about the fit. A size 6 fit well in width and height of shaft, so I think this long toe area is just a design choice. These boots are so attractive, I got a compliment on them just walking the dog! Worth every penny. I love them.
Overall, an amazing pair of boots
So I've had these boots for close to 9 months now and so far they've held up exceptionally well. I initially bought them to replace my cheap old snow boots, but I've also found they're great for everyday/multipurpose use. I've even taken to using them as work boots. However, since they are insulated, they can feel a little hot when the weather is warmer, though I can't complain considering that's not really the type of weather they are meant for. I would definitely recommend investing in a good pair of insoles to go with them, especially if you plan to be wearing them often as the insoles they come with don't offer any sort of support (granted this advice goes for pretty much any pair of shoes ever). I would also highly, highly recommend doing a bit of research on properly caring for leather shoes, as these boots will last you years to come if the leather is properly maintained. Overall, an excellent purchase and I highly recommend them.
New favorite all around boot
I have officially deemed this my new favorite all around boot. I have used this multiple times for many occasions and it's sleek black look and waterproof ability, is both fashionable and practical. I have tried it without hiking socks, and the tag on the inside DOES rub my leg in an uncomfortable way, so when wearing these now, I make sure to grab a long pair of socks to scrunch down at the cuff. Other than that, these are my new favorites boots.
Great Minnesota Boot!
Great shoe, I was surprised by the insulation and how warm the boot is. I live in Northern Minnesota and these boots have kept me warm in -20*F!
Highly Recommended
I bought these boots, I believe, 6-7 years ago while living in Los Angeles. I fell in love with the looks and description of the boots. They are sooo comfortable, cozy, water resistant, light, well made, and overall absolutely beautiful. I then moved to Oregon where I use them all the time and my boots are always complemented. I can dress them up or down; they always look so smart!! After all these years my boots still look in excellent shape and I can tell they will last a very long time and when they go, I will purchase another pair.
