This is a great, lightweight rain jacket. I like that it comes down a little lower over the butt to keep your bum dry. Also somebody said some thing about the high pockets. Apparently they do that in rain jackets so that if your hands are in your pockets while it’s raining, the rain will not drain into your pockets. I do not find these pockets to be particularly higher or accessible. The zipper is a little stiff. But overall it’s a solid choice for a raincoat. I’m 5’7” and 158 lbs. I wear somewhere between an 8 - 12. A medium fits great with just enough room for a fleece underneath.

Hood, Pockets, and Bottom Bungee Problems...
Lea Fetterman
I really want to love this jacket, but there are many things that frustrate me about it: First, there's the hood. Even with my hair down, the hood is too shallow and doesn't cover my face and head enough to keep it dry (and I have very long hair, so I usually hike with it up, making this problem worse in the field). I have a small head. This is still an issue when I try tightening the back. When loose, the hood sits very high above my head, so I have to tighten it for it to "fit," but either way my forehead is exposed and gets wet. Second, there's the pockets. I wish the pockets were a little lower so I did not feel like a T-Rex with my arms hiked up my body in order to put them in the pockets comfortably. I do love how big the pockets are though (they also act as air vents for when you're too warm). Third, the bottom bungee chord for tightening the hip edge always loosens itself right after I tighten it, and doesn't stay tight while wearing. I'm not doing excessive movement; the clasp that's supposed to hold it tight is just too loose and doesn't secure it. These are my biggest qualms. I wish raincoat designs for women took into account our hair, especially since we usually hike with our hair tied back when doing anything in the outdoors. The Gore-Tex material has worked very well to keep me dry and beads beautifully, and I love the raisin color that I got. I just wish the above design problems were solved.

Great jacket but lacks hood adjustments

Everything about this jacket is great and I really wanted it to work. It's soft, not stiff. The pockets are high so they can be reached while wearing backpack hip belts. I love the color. It doesn’t have pit zips, which I prefer to have but can live without. The major flaw in this jacket is that you can't tighten the hood around your face. The hood is only adjustable in one place and that's behind the head. This leaves a large gap around the face/chin/neck which is prone to getting wet. I’m also worried that in high winds, the hood won’t stay on my head. Unfortunately have to return this jacket.

so great...until it rains!

I love the minimalist design, the longer fit, the adjustments that are perfect, the pockets up higher for backpacking....all of it...until it rained and by mile 3 my arms were wet. So disappointing.

Love, love, LOVE this jacket!

I was searching for a Gore-Tex, lightweight jacket that would move as I move, and keep out the rain, and could be worn with or without layers. I am between a L & XL in size, and opted for for XL so I could wear sweatshirts or sweaters for colder days. I didnt want a model-tight fit not feel like a teletubbie in a box. It arrived today, and its pouring outside. I put on a thick sweatshirt and a marmot rain pant over jeans. Went for a walk and was dry, not overheated, and the color in the outdoors is pretty, a light, "misty" purple. the image here, and the video make it look grey. The zipper is a nice, firm glide unlike a different Gore-Tex jacket I tried (it was nearly impossible to zip up, I was afraid I'd break the zipper). The cord in the back to pull the hood closer to your head is easy to access with one hand, the bill is big enough to keep the drips out. Sturdy and light enough to stuff into a backpack. May not be large enough to fit over my bike helmet but definitely tidy enough to fit under. My knit cap was a perfect layer. Innerpocket kept my phone dry, side pockets roomy and their zippers have protective coating.Great quality coat for the budget friendly.

Great jacket!

This is a really great jacket. I usually wear a 6, sort of between a S and M, I got a medium because I wanted to wear it with a fleece or sweater. Works perfectly for that, yet it’s not too big with just a tee shirt. The color is great although the cuffs will probably show a bit of wear, but that doesn’t bother me. Happy I purchased it.

Darn pockets!

I just received this jacket today. I was excited to find a good deal on a lightweight Goretex jacket. I am usually between a small and medium, (I'm 5'4'' and on the busty side), and decided to purchase the small. I really liked the fit of the small and color of this jacket and thought it was a definite keeper until I looked in the mirror. The one major flaw with this jacket is the placing of the pockets! They are way too high. When zipped all the way up the pull came to where my nipples would be. Even if the zipper didn't look strange (which I think it does), the high placement is not very functional. It does have an inside pocket for a cell phone, which would be nice. I am really bummed as I love everything else about this jacket, but will return it.

Flattering fit and color

Flattering fit and color. The sleeves run long which for me which is perfect and hard to find. Nice deep pockets. The hood has an inner malleable wire to adjust the shape but no cord to adjust overall size. It will be great for outdoor activities (not tested yet) and good to layer in winter or wear with a T-shirt in spring. I only wish it had armpit zips, but that's it.

Light & stretchy

Nice stretch to the material. Hood is sufficient, pockets a little high but comfortable. Could use a mesh liner but the interior is at least not sticky when it gets a little warm. It’s very light. Can be easily rolled up and stowed.
