Everything they say about ferrosi is true

Day to day use and outdoor use bouldering/exploring . Worked in it one day and snagged the cuff with a sawzall blade and snapped the fabric roughly and no damage at all nothing . I now own 2 ferrosi jackets one hoody and one summit. The jackets look stylish and casual in casual clothes and do their duty in the outdoors. The hoody is my go to gear pull when going out . I have not been wet in light rains and get good chill protection from its wind resistance. I actually like wearing them which is not easy to find. I waited long in buying one but after the first I filled other blank spots outfitting with the same product in different roles. Score!

Hunting, backpacking, or an evening on the trail

I wanted a lighter-weight outer layer I could use to cut down on those sudden bursts of wind that are common in the desert but that wouldn't completely suffocate me when the wind died down. It's made of the same material as the other products in the line, which is sort of a stretchy nylon material. A previous reviewer said the Kale was too bright so I was a tad worried, but it's muted to the point where I have no problem bringing it with me hunting. The material is water-resistant insofar as it's fine for walking through wet foliage and possibly light showers that are short in duration, otherwise the water will penetrate (though it dries very quickly).

Great featherweight jacket for chilly summer mornings/nights

I bought a Ferrosi Grid hooded jacket to use for mountain-biking in chilly spring weather and liked it enough, as the weather has been warming up, to want a lighter version. This Ferrosi Jacket is much lighter in build than the Grid model, but it's stretchy comfortable, light as a feather, and still has excellent wind protection, keeping me warm when there's a little chill in the morning air, whether I'm biking or just grabbing groceries. It should be great for summer camping adventures, adding no weight at all to my pack.

Good for nothing

This is by far the most useless piece of gear I've ever bought. It provides essentially no protection against wind (there were mixed reviews about this, but the product claims to provide wind protection so I thought I'd take a chance anyway). The size runs small. I ordered an XL, which usually fits me with plenty of room but this is nearly skin tight so I can't use it for layering. I can't imagine anyone getting any significant benefit from this.

Great simple softshell

I was looking for a simple, comfortable, and durable softshell for everyday work building trails. This is the perfect weight, has a nice balance of weatherproofing and breathability, fits great, and if it lasts will be exactly what I was looking for. I could do without the reflective accents on the chest, and would have preferred if the lining material on the collar were slightly stiffer so that the collar sits up rather than flops down when unzipped, , but these aren't significant issues.

Great jacket

I work outside in Southern California where you have a range of climates from mountains to the desert. This jacket is great as if stuffs into a small stuff sack the size of my two fists and goes with me in my backpack. It breathes amazingly well, isn't too warm and sheds light water. This jacket won't block the wind and keeps me comfortable down to around 45 degrees. Below 45 degrees, I put on a fleece jacket underneath and am good to go. This jacket is very light and very breathable (again) so it is great for my highly active day outside. Sitting around, you would definitely need another layer for it to keep you warm. I also push through brush all day and this jacket has held up well minus a few blemishes and some mild scuffing on the front. I bought another one of these after loving the first one so much.

Excellent, versatile jacket

This is a very flexible and lightweight jacket. I initially had some concerns about durability due to the light weight of the jacket, but it is proving quite durable. It's best use seems to be as a wind blocking layer. The tight weave of the material blocks wind and grit. I have mostly used it on short hikes and daily walking the dog in temperatures ranging from -24C to +16C. It works well during high output activities in colder weather when combined with a fleece sweater and/or long underwear top. In warmer weather opening the front zipper provides adequate ventilation when combined with the breathability of the fabric. The only con I have found is that the sleeve length may be slightly short for someone with longer than average arms. If you have gloves with normal cuffs then it would likely not be an issue.

Awesome jacket

I bought this jacket in preparation for a trip to Switzerland in mid September. It was light enough for the warmer days and worked great as a layer on the colder ones. It rained lightly off and on for most of the week and the jacket shed enough water to keep me warm and dry during the showers and still comfortable when the sun came back out. I was up to 12-13k feet and the Ferrosi paired well with my down jacket, both under and over. Great light jacket, perfect for layering.

Magic in the Mountains

I love my Ferossi so much that I have two of them. This jacket is awesome as a mountain hiking jacket. Thin enough I can wear it at the bottom at 16 deg C with the sleeves rolled up and zipped open once you warm up. When you hit elevation and the wind in the ridges above the treeline, this jacket is magic. It breathes nicely, cuts the wind amazingly for its lightness and size, and will shed a light mist or rain.

Another great addition

I have the hooded version of this jacket, yet realized I rarely used the hood, so voila I purchased the regular jacket. I am constantly amazed by how rugged the ferrosi fabric is. This jacket is so light, yet amazing functional as an outer layer or part of a layer system. Working in a career that requires at times moments notice to don earth tones/camouflage the coyote color blends amazing.
