This is the perfect jacket for so many situations! I use this as an outer layer over a base layer when XC skiing and running, and I use it as a mid layer when downhill skiing. It's also great for casual wear when the temps are above freezing. The zippers are all smooth and easy to open/close. The materials all feel sturdy yet comfortable. This is just a really well made jacket. I'm a fit 170lbs and 5'10" tall. I bought the Medium and it's exactly right. Some reviewers said the arms are too long, but I don't agree. I find the arm length to be just right. I wear a 34/35 length sleeve in my dress shirts.
What a terrific jacket! Fit is perfect, comfortable and well proportioned. It is warm, yet not overly insulated and a great garment for cool spring days....think 40-55 degrees with light to moderate activity. Another well made article from Smartwool. Never dissatisfied with their garments or accessories.
I am 6'3" and 210lbs and an XL fits perfect. My wingspan is 6'8" and I am a knuckel dragger like other reviewers have stated. The first jacket I own that the sleeves are long enough, thank you Smartwool! Warmth is also great for a midweight or just everyday jacket. Couldn't be happier.
I've had this for several seasons and this is an outstanding coat. Blows my OR polyester hoodies out of the water for keeping warm when hiking or walking the dogs. I'm 6'3, 230 so XxL fit awesome with great sleeve length
I bought the men's small hoping it would work for me and it did (5'6, 128 lbs), although sleeves were just a tad long (but easy to roll up). Keeps you warm, and comfortable either layered or worn on its own. great for running or just casually running errands, etc.
Based upon my receipt of the article and no authentic use, it fit as expected, it is well constructed, is the weight and construction I was looking for and expected for use as a layer in cross country skiing and other colder weather activities.
warm enough for winter wear with base layers. sleeve length is excessively long thick makes the fit very odd. able to tuck them in but that doesn't last while being active.
Sleeves too long, even considering the thumb/hand extension. This make a very handsome mid layer unattractive except when being used (as intended) in the field.
Decent jacket , color wasn't even close! Smartwool was a fave of mine for years. They have apparently changed their corporate strategy?? Hope all goes well !!
I like the look and feel of this jacket. Perfect for weather in the 40s in sunny Colorado. Sleeves a bit long when not using the thumb holes.
