A Warm Cloud

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Imagine if you could wear a warm cloud, are you imagining it, good. How does it feel? Secure, warm, like you could take on the world? Travel the world? This is how I feel when I put on this true to size jacket that presses against my cold, clammy body. I imagine having this jacket for the rest of my life, passing it on to my kids, my grandkids, their grandkids who I hope someday will then pass it down to a neighborhood kid who needed the warmth of a warm cloud on his cold, clammy arms before frostbite sat in. This jacket is true to Columbia's promise of quality over quantity. Keep innovating Columbia! And thank you for keeping me as warm as a cloud. Clouds can get warm right? I hope so because my whole review hinges on this.

don't understand the good reviews...

i am a north face girl true and true. but due to the great prices, i decided to give this jacket a shot. i will never buy columbia again. i am constantly freezing in this jacket. i don't know why the other reviews are so positive. i live in seattle, and recently it has only been about 40 degrees and i can always feel the wind go up the front of my jacket. granted, i have a long torso, but i feel as though a cinch system for the bottom would have done well. note, the small fits me very well so i do not believe this to be a size issue. also, the sides of the jacket also leave me freezing since it is a "hybrid". overall, i wish i had gotten a north face and invested.

Potentially a nice jacket

I returned the jacket. I ordered an extra small in black. I'm 5'3', 125 lbs. I found the fit to be great in length (arms, overall). However, did not love the stretch (makes the jacket look cheap), and the arms at the biceps puff out so it can tend to look too large on a petite bodyframe. I purchased it to replace a Columbia REACH THE PEAK™ DOWN JACKET that I loved and lost. I did not try it on under another Columbia jacket (water resistant layer) that I own to see if it would fit (that was the intent, to layer, like my prior Columbia down jacket). I do love Columbia product, so I'll keep coming back.

Still Wearing 3 Years Later

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this jacket 3 years ago because I liked how it looked on someone else. I'm STILL wearing it. This jacket has kept me warm in the fall and the winter - it's really easy to wash and clean and I haven't seen much wear on it. I wear it every single day to work and on winter hikes. (It's lightweight so it doesn't weigh me down or my backpack down.) I accidentally got snagged on something recently and heard a ripping noise. I was SO SURE that I tore a hole in the sleeve and was upset because I didn't think this jacket was still for sale! (But my sleeve was unaffected! There is no hole there.)

Nice light jacket for mild winter

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this jacket to wear in 40 degree weather and it seems to be fine for that since it is not down. I love the way the sleeves have an elastic band at the wrist to keep the air out. The quality is nice. I like the two tone color. I ordered a medium based on reviews since i like to layer but was a little disappointed that the middle of the jacket doesnt fit as snug as I would like. The draw string at the bottom of the coat does help a little to get a tighter fit. Im 5’7” 124 lbs. I am glad I did not pay full price for the jacket because of the fit. I would recommend with my comments in mind.

Warm, but slim jacket

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this jacket! I was looking for a warm but slimming jacket that I could use for walking around campus in PA, skiing in Colorado and everyday use in Denver. This jacket is much warmer than it appears, and I tend to overheat in it if I'm walking to class with a sweatshirt on beneath it. I am normally a small in shirts, but ordered a medium in the jacket so I could wear a sweatshirt under it. You are able to tighten it at the bottom to make it more snug if it runs a little large on you. Overall, a great purchase and definitely worth the money. My sister and mom both want to buy one now.

Great coat!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was hesitant to purchase this online because I like to see the weight of the coat before I buy but it got good reviews so I took a chance. I LOVE this coat. It doesn't seem like a heavy weight coat when you look at it, but it is so warm. Through this recent cold snap when it was in the low teens and single digits, it kept me so warm I was even sweating in it! I also love that it has cuffs to keep my arms warm. I wear a small and I wanted to get a medium due to reviews and fitting a sweater underneath but at the time there was none in stock. I ordered a small and it fits great, I can even put a heavy sweater underneath it and it doesn't feel tight. Highly recommend this coat. I got the blue and it's beautiful.

would buy again

Love the unpuffiness of this coat. Sleeves are a tad long as I have read but not bothersome. This biggest issue I have is that if it's not zipped all the way up (especially when driving) the lapel on the left sticks up funny. I'm constantly tucking it under my seat belt. It is a VERY comfortable coat. I'm 5'3" and (ahem) 155. I COULD have ordered a MED but got a LG (black) and prolly would have been happy with either size. With that said, this coat is roomy and I can still wear a hoody underneath without feeling like a stuffed sausage.

Great for Florida Cold

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I live in Florida. While it doesn't get cold often, the weather is damp and windy when it does. Florida does not sell cold-weather jackets, so I purchased my jacket online at Columbia. It was exactly as pictured. This jacket is perfect for Florida's damp and windy 40 degree winter weather. The sleeves cuff around your wrist so the wind does not get in. This jacket is lightweight and easy to take on and off (versus wearing multiple layers) while still keeping me warm from the elements. The pockets zip up and are warm.
