I get so many compliments on my jacket
I really love my new Patagonia jacket!
Extremely comfortable
Bought the corduroy Mojave Khaki style, have been wearing it basically since I tried it on in the store. It’s warm and super comfy. I’m a woman who usually buys size medium Women’s Patagonia gear and size small in men’s, but went for medium for a more relaxed fit and the ability to layer. Pocket placement is a bit odd, but it’s not a deal breaker. Been getting plenty of compliments on it as well.
Tough, warm, well thought out tweaks to a classic
I happened to notice this jacket in the store just as my old similarly designed denim jacket was giving up the ghost after years of good service — this Patagonia Trucker Jacket sure does catch the eye under any circumstances, but the need for a replacement drew me right to it. High quality & sturdy stitching, nice loft for the pile lining, and taffeta-lined sleeves make slipping in and out a breeze. I put it on over the flannel shirt and fleece I was wearing — a perfect fit, jacket coming right to my waist and cuffs right where I want them, just a half inch or so below the wrist. Spun my arms around & reached up high and confirmed that I could get some work done wearing this — no binding whatsoever around my shoulders and upper arms. I imagine the price will scare some folks off, but this thing is built to last (I had that old denim jacket with me for 15 years and the Patagonia just off the hanger feels tougher and more sturdy to me). Plus I’m willing to pay more for the more environmentally and worker friendly approach of Patagonia — with that and figuring the annual cost across the expected life of use, this item suddenly appears reasonable. Design tweaks from the classic version include an entrance to the side pockets set back further than most folks are used to. This adds a lot of storage room to the pockets and is quickly gotten used to (at least for me) & I can still walk around in colder weather with my hands in the pockets. I also like the snaps better than the traditional metal buttons on other designs — easier to open and close and cures the inevitable wearing and tearing that buttons eventually wreak on the buttonholes. I’m 6’2” with long arms, weight of 185 lbs, and a 32” waist. I generally get my shirts and jackets in XL to accommodate the arms, but occasionally pay for that by having a billowing amount of excess cloth around my waist. Not here. The XL is a perfect fit for me, looking trim enough and yet with plenty of room for layering. The layering is good for bringing the cold weather usefulness of this jacket into the 20 degree range (as it was this morning when I slipped into this jacket with only a base layer & fleece beneath it — a nice 4 mile walk in the snow flurrying cold & I was completely comfortable). No buyer’s remorse here! Already a go-to jacket hanging by the back door for ready use. I expect to be wearing this for a lot of years. A winner & recommended.
Unbeatable Quality and Style !
First and foremost, let's talk about side pocket placement. Some have mentioned them being too far back, that couldn't be farther than the truth. They are perfectly placed at the sides where they belong for a trucker style jacket. The pocket opening is along the side seam as to not ruin the aesthetic of the sleek vertical stitching. They are generous depth which keeps all my treasures safe and sound. Speaking of style, this thing works well either out in the mountains, or out at the club. It's a timeless look and only gets better with some breaking in. Comfort is where this thing really shines. It has a decent weight to it and the soft pile-lining keeps me cozy on chilly days without feeling too bulky. The attention to detail is evident in every stitch. 11/10.
Pocket lose it for me
This seems like a great coat, felt warm, comfortable, size through body and sleeves was comfortable. The hand pocket location was/is terrible. The pockets are set at the side seam. So you really have to pull your shoulder/hands back from where they naturally want to go. Once in the pockets it pulls on whole coat and cuts into your wrists. Tried on size L. I'm 5'9" 190, athletic cross-fitter.
nice jacket but...
I agree with the other reviews on the horrible placement of the hip pockets. I never use them because of this. The jacket runs small. I wear a small in all my other Patagonia, but the medium fits perfect. The pros are that it is warm, looks nice and is well made. Have had it for a year now and no problems with the stitching or anything construction wise.
Great Jacket for Jacketing
Typical Patagonia quality wears well. I sized up purely by chance (I bought a Large but usually wear a Medium). Length fits me well and there is some extra space in the body but I prefer it.
Good Jacket
The jacket is warm tough and i love the look, the size is a little off, i usually get XL but it was way too short for me (6'3") i got an XXL and the fit was a bit better but its now too wide so im guessing it wasnt made for taller people. Overall its a good jacket with weird side pocket placements. I am going to keep it.
Nice Jacket
My old trucker jacket was very similar to this one, but it was stained and a bit too large. When it came time for a replacement ran across this Patagonia version. It’s a very nice jacket, solidly made and feels very good. My only issue has to do with the pocket location, I find myself arching my back in order to use them. Not sure I can get used to this.
Great Jacket
Very comfortable and warm. The pockets are further back then what I am used to on a jacket but that is just a preference thing. Always a great brand to support as well.
