Great while they lasted

I'm a newer clipless rider, but a seasoned mtb rider, figured I'd give these shoes a whirl. First impressions were comfort, light weight, ease of use and putting on. I used them mainly for commuting to and from work and some lo ge rides. I work on a military base and usually walk .4 miles to my building and they were nice for that...as much as clipless shoes can be. That's also why I chose a mountain bike style. Over the 3 months of owning them, I encountered some stretching of the fit, as well as rapid deterioration of the heel insole. The cleats up front wore out within a month, and were a pain to extract. The velcro stood up, and the boa IP1 is ingenious, though it would loosen a tad on lo ge rides. i had to really winch it down. I got a size 11, the 10 and 10.5 being way too small, and the 11 was perfect. I utimately returned them, might have been that the guy helping me sized me wrong in the beginning. For strict use of trail riding I could see these shoes, with the right fit, I would reccomend these shoes.

Not the most comfortable

While these seem well built and sturdy, no matter how tight I make the boa lace system, the tongue of the shoe slides down and gets really uncomfortable. The shoes fit well when not riding and just standing, but as soon as I ride, it happens. I have tried different socks, tried going tighter, and the tongue keeps sliding down. I have to stop, undo the boa lace, and pull the tongue up. I'm planning to return them.

Comfortable but not long lasting.

Very comfortable shows for trail riding. Short and long days on the saddle are fine for these shows. The problem I had is that the sole broke where the cleat is installed so it was giving me a bad pain on my right foot. Bought them on September 2020 and it is July 2021, so not even a year of use.

Bontrager Foray Mountain Bike Shoes

Great shoe for riding and pedaling, not so great for off-the-bike trail portage.
